Parents play a major role not only enhancing the learning capabilities and achievements of their children
but also in contributing to the improvement of the school they are enrolled in. Thus, their active
participation in the programs and policy making initiatives of the school must be encouraged and
developed to help attain the desired quality of education.
It has been a common observation every school year that parents show a seeming nonchalant attitude
when it comes to involving themselves in the activities and affairs of our school. During PTA meetings,
for example, very few parents attend making it difficult to come up with really meaningful interaction
and exchange of ideas specifically on the school’s policies and requirements. Likewise, the demonstrated
performance of the students lend a serious question on how their parents support them at home.
