As the film industries of the world are constantly being developed that now-a-days, it is hard to

keep track of what’s on trend or the bestsellers of the year. Along with the vast increase most
of them are a bad influence for the young generation. These films are responsible for the
enlargement of crime, violence and illegitimacy in the society. Here are my reasons why.

For instance, despite the PG rated warning signs at the beginning of the movie, most people
have a tendency to ignore it out of curiosity and eventually end up exposing themselves to
some unsettling scenes. In addition I have seen little girls chatting about PG rated films like
Mean Girls despite being only 10 or 11 years old.

Furthermore, they encourage the act of criminal activities towards the child's eyes. Such as a
historical movie revisiting the life of a serial killer or criminal could provoke the child out of
interest. This usually results in the birth of child killers or other dangerous criminals.

On the other hand, not all films impact gruesome motivations. There are many meaningful
movies released as well which deal with personal modern everyday problems of life, such as
depression, bullying, mental health etc. Movies which address to these such as Hope Floats,
Chicken Little, Inside Out etc all remind us to respect those around us and be kind. Never judge
people by appearances.

Some movies are also helpful in understanding about the widespread cultural and ethenic
backgrounds of other religions apart from our own and how we should be considerative of their
opinions. Marriage between two people from different backgrounds is extremely common in
this century, and there are films that depict the struggles of being born with parents from two
different religions like Abe.

Movies have also been used by many parents to help their child learn a new language. This has
proven to be a great boon in many countries as children tend to pick up on things faster than
adults. The best example of this is RM, leader of international sensation boyband BTS, who has
stated that he learned English by watching Friends when he was a teenager.

However I believe they are still inappropriate for today's generation as they contain vulgar
language along with very traumatizing and gory scenes, frightening for the weak hearted,
sensitive people and children, such as the newly released Child’s Play.

In conclusion, the majority of movies I have seen and heard of are certainly a bad influence on
the youth. Because of such movies, people are moulded into maintaining judgemental and
aggressive behavior towards others, showing signs of mental problems. We should spend
some time in other productive ways, instead of binge-watching a movie marathon in a day.
