‘To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is my recommendation for a teaching position for Ms. Kelsey Emory. !had the
pleasure of being her WGU supervising teacher. This was a unique and unprecedented time as
it was at the end of her student teaching experience the COVID-19 school closures occurred. |
had the opportunity to watch her grow tremendously in her special education middle school
placement. She developed the skill needed in this type of setting to be able to manage multiple
activities going on and various students entering and exiting (appropriately) the resource
setting. | observed her creating meaningful lessons that students engaged in. | was pleased
with her ability to provide wait time as she allowed students to problem solve thru the activities
she provided. She was proximal to them, however, did not jump to providing the students
answers when they were learning. She guided and encouraged them to persevere and be
confident in their abi
‘Asa teacher, she found her teacher confidence with each observation. She was eager to
evaluate her performance and took constructive guidance eagerly and worked to improve on
the subtle techniques | provided. With each observation, she grew into an excellent teacher
who is ready for her own room,
With regard to her general education setting, it is a bit more challenging to speak of her overall
growth in this setting. | observed her once and was extremely pleased at where she was skill-
wise and control of the room. | was even more impressed with her ability to navigate the
unprecedented school closures and the need for continued learning remotely. She has an
impressive grasp of the technology. The lessons I viewed were high quality and she was very
‘comfortable in her delivery and felt engaged in the lesson.
I believe that Ms. Emory would be an asset to any grade level or special education program.
She is a very calm and knowledgeable presence that would move any department in the right
direction of student growth and connections.
