What is the characteristic of reliable sources ? ( Ghesa )

Answer : The sources has accourate

Accountable

The information was made or published by institution or government

has author ( expert author )

(information overload).

2. How to find the good resources ? ( Musthofa )

-if the site ends in .edu, it is most likely an educational institution. Be aware, however, of political bias.

-if the site ends in .gov, it is most likely a reliable government website. These sites usually provide good
sources for statistics and objective reports.

-if the site ends in .org, it is usually a non-profit organization.

-these sources vary in being good or poor sources of information

-need to research their possible agendas or political biases, if they exist

3. How to choose a good learning resources ? ( Yuli )

Answer : look on the author trusted or not

Choose something that was choosen by a successed person before

Choose the updated sources

Choose the source can be usefull

With these three reasons in mind, it is important that you find sources that you can reliably use
to construct your paper. For every source that you find, ask yourself these six questions:  WHO is the
author? What makes him or her qualified to speak about this topic? What else has this author put out?
Do you notice this author’s name referred to in other sources, suggesting that the author is influential in
the field? You may need to do a bit of Internet research to find out more about the author.

 WHAT does their list of references look like? Authors of reliable sources will take the time to
include a properly formatted, thorough list of references. Look at the quantity of sources they cite, but
also investigate the quality of those sources: how reliable are those sources? A source whose entire
argument is based on unreliable sources is itself unreliable.

 WHEN was the source created? In general, more recent sources are more reliable, particularly
in rapidly-evolving fields such as most sciences. However, in other fields, such as the humanities, the
oldest sources may be most authoritative. Consider what field you are writing in and whether it would
be risky to use older information.

 WHERE did you find the source? Does the source appear in a medium that “feels” academic,
such as an online journal database or a college library? Or does it appear in a medium that “feels” non-
academic, such as Facebook or a website with a lot of advertisements and flashing lights?

 WHY was the source created? What is the author’s purpose? Is the author trying to inform an
audience about factual information? Is the author trying to persuade an audience to agree with him or
her? Is the author simply trying to entertain an audience? Make sure the author’s purpose aligns with
your own purpose.

 HOW is the source relevant to your topic? Only choose sources that you will actually be able to
use. Do not force yourself to use a source simply because you need to meet a certain number of sources

4. What the benefit of resources ? ( Gholy )

Answer : to gain our knowledge

To help the people learn

To get new information

To solve our problem

Multiply our vocabulary

There are three reasons for finding sources for your research paper:

1. To provide yourself with background information on your topic

2. To support your own argument or findings

3. To provide a counterpoint to your own argument or findings

To reduces our trial and eror experients

To make sure the data is right or not

Make we believe more than before

5. Why we must be able to search for our own resources to learning ? ( Wildan )

Answer : Because we are an adult learner

Because maybe our problems are different from someone else

Because we are using the concept of student centered learning

Student-centered instruction [SCI] is an instructional approach in which students influence the

content, activities, materials, and pace of learning. This learning model places the student (learner) in
the center of the learning process. The instructor provides students with opportunities to learn
independently and from one another and coaches them in the skills they need to do so effectively.

6. Why patient can be used as media to gain our learning resources ? ( Bagas )

Answer : Because we can learn the new problem that before we do know from the patient

Because from the patient we get new information (unknown diseases)

Because patient can triggered a new problem

7. Why student prefer to choose internet to find some in information than library ? ( Aina )

Answer : Because internet can easy to acces

Because internet can be acces faster
Because the students lazy to read on text book
Because some student lazy regulation to ibrary
In 2008, Douglas King asked six librarians whether they believed federated searching was
working as a way “to win users back from Google.”4 Their responses were mixed. Federated
searching, one librarian acknowledged, was a way for students to discover which databases
might be best for a particular discipline. Another librarian realized that, in polling her fellow
librarians, very few of them were teaching it in the classroom. All of the librarians surveyed said
that federated searching did not provide seamless searching, was slow, and definitely needed to
be improved. But, in keeping with the librarians’ experience at Brooklyn College, they were
reluctant to do away with their federated search tool completely. For all of its flaws, it was at
least something that libraries could offer as an alternative to Google.

9. What is characteristic of unreliable sources? ( Ani )

Answer : unknown author
From the website
Have an information that Cant be trusted
An old sources
 Magazine articles. UNRELIABLE. Since most magazine articles are written to entertain, they are
unlikely to align with the purpose of your research. If a magazine article cites another source,
however, you may wish to investigate that source.
 Online encyclopedias. UNRELIABLE. These can be helpful for getting a basic overview of your
topic before you begin your research, but since the articles in online encyclopedias can be
edited by anyone, you should never use them as sources. Instead,

 scroll down to the “References” section at the bottom of the article and consider using some
of those sources instead.

 Articles authored by freelance writers. UNRELIABLE. Freelance writers usually get paid by the
quantity of their work, not the quality. Therefore, they have little incentive to produce factual,
accurate information. Even if the author claims to have impressive credentials, you are better off
using journal articles, which you know are reliable.

5. Pandai memilih media
yang tepat.
