@ cameron Compression Systems Technical Training - | ‘Requirements for Vantage 5 / Maestro Legend communication with laptop PC Cameron Compression Systems (CCS) distributor training class ‘Standard Compressors Commissioning and Contrals’ requires each attendee to have a portable laptop PC with certain requirements and also several communication accessories. These items will also be necessary to commission any compressor equipped with Vantage 5 / Maestro Legend (ML) control. Vantage 5 / Maestro Legend PC Requirements ‘Windows software versions 95 or later (95; 98; NT*; 2000; ME; or XP) The PC must have a USB serial port (DB9) available for communication with the ‘Vantage 5 / Maestro Legend panel, through the proper interconnection (see below) + The PC must have a display screen capable of 800 x 600 resolutions, but 1024 x 768 is recommended. The Vantage 5 / Maestro Legend panel's Main Logic Module (MLM) can communicate with the PC through the J2, C-Link Network connector - an RS-485 port. A cable is required to connect this port to a USB serial port on your PC. Therefore, one end of the required communication cable must have an RS-485 connector (for the Vantage/ML); and the other end must have the required RS-485 converter (with connector) for the PC USB serial port.
