DRUM MAJOR (1) Appointed Position

The Drum Major is the leader of the Glenelg Band Program and Marching Unit. Responsibilities include...
● Represents the Glenelg Bands & Marching Unit of the Past, Present and Future
● Cooperates & Collaborates with ALL Members, Staff, and Parents
● Leads by Example
● Liaison between the Glenelg Marching Unit and the Band Director
● Provides oversight to one of the following sections… Winds or Percussion
● Field Conductor
● Conducts Warm-ups
● Field PA, Metronome, Rehearsal Bag
● Team (Community) Building Activities / Community Outreach
● Organizes Marching Unit Spirit Days
● Dismissal

LEADERSHIP TEAM (5-6) Appointed positions

Responsibilities include...
● Represents the Glenelg Bands & Marching Unit of the Past, Present and Future
● Cooperates & Collaborates with ALL Members, Staff, and Parents
● Leads by Example
● Attendance at all rehearsals
● Setting / Cleaning the field for rehearsal, including: podiums, yard markers, cones, water, etc.
● Assists Pit with equipment
● Assists with the management of uniforms, including: distribution, inspection, and collection
● Provides marching leadership and music leadership during sectionals
● Instrument Cleaning/Maintenance
● Organizes and manages music distribution
● Team (Community) Building Activities / Community Outreach
● Organizes Marching Unit Spirit Days
● Organizes section bonding experiences
● Liaison between sections and the Band Director
