BAD EXPERIENCE
Bad experience:
 Bought mp3 player in 2007
 64 GB Chinese mp3 player looking same as ipod Mini
 Broke down 2nd day
 Fought with retailer to change
 Added money and bought another one
 Had same problem but retailer did not replace/refund
 No service center as it is not a premium “branded” product
GOOD EXPERIENCE
Wardrobe Bought online (S.Korea)
Size did not match
Contacted the retailer
Sent to courier (with courier fee bored by retailer)
Send back with gift ( discount coupon on next purchase)
PROCESS OF FINALIZING BUYING DECISION
MP3 Player Apparel Shopping online
Saw friends using mp3 players while Surfing online shopping site to kill time
commuting Need Identification
Saw discount on good Jeans and bought
Thought of buying mp3 player Impulse Buying

Went to Civil mall and looked for


electronic store Information Search
Look for optionEvaluation of alternative
Decided to buy based on design
(similar to ipad mini)
SHOPPING EXPERIENCE
Online and offline shopping experience in two different countries
After experience with MP3 player. I stopped buying electronic products from local
stores
After online shopping experience, trust towards online increased
HOW LINE WILL THESE BELIEFS WILL LAST?
Probably forever
 Local electronics store does not offer warranty and proper service
 Daraz is also doing good in Nepal so probably belief for online might go stronger

What could make you change these beliefs so that your


buying behavior is improved?
• Good retailer/shopkeeper
• Govt. policy ensuring strong consumer rights
