Compare/Contrast Text Structure

Paragraph Writing Assignment

This week we are learning about the Compare/Contrast text structure. We have
practiced reading texts that use this structure, and now you will have a chance to
practice writing a compare/contrast-structured paragraph.

Assignment: ​Read both articles in ReadWorks about "Nurses Who Made History" --
Clara Barton and Florence Nightingale. Do you think that Clara Barton and Florence
Nightingale are more similar or more different? Write a paragraph that gives evidence
from the text to support your answer. Use compare/contrast signal words in your
text.The paragraph should be written with your best grammar and include at least 5
sentences. Email the paragraph to Megan at mjones@waubonsee.edu
