Resolution Numbered 105, series of 2016 approved by the city council states that, “the extraordinary

performance during life-threatening situations and the honesty of the personnel of the Baguio City Fire
Station has shown not only their bravery but has likewise preserved the morale of the workforce which
deserves the praise and acclamation by the entire officialdom of the city government of Baguio and the
constituency of the city of Baguio”.

“The BFP is responsible, among others, in preventing and suppressing all destructive fires on buildings,
houses and other structures, and as a public safety agency, the organization adheres to the doctrine of
life preservation in the event of emergency, disaster, and calamity”.

City Fire Marshal Supt. Joe Fernando Bangyod together with Senior Inspectors Mario dela Cruz and
Jessie Annasiw, and Insp. Jesus Yango received the certificate of commendation personally handed by
the city officials headed by mayor Mauricio Domogan.

Domogan, in his inspirational message stressed that in times of disaster and calamity, the city is very
proud for having public servants that are honest in performing their duties and responsibilities.

“It is not easy to be a firefighter because you risk your own lives to safe other people. Your honesty in
returning the jewelries and old coins to the rightful owner only shows your dedication to your vocation,”
