Communication Unit Reflection

Based on my knowledge of the RISE Model for Self-Evaluation, I will approach a similar

situation in the future by looking at the overall purpose of the unit rather than just each

assignment individually. By understanding how all of them work together to teach a common

lesson, can help me understand the concept even better. This informs my personal goals because

it is teaching me about how to properly use copyright and fair use law appropriately. It also

informs my professional goals because knowing how to properly cite or use other artists work to

support mine.

Furthermore, I could have improved my performance in each of these assignments by

taking more time to understand and fully the information in each. This is important because these

assignments have real life applications based on the lessons they are teaching. If I had more time

I would have made my podcast much more exciting, my memes more descriptive and my

technology use on a day I actually had off from work. I think this would have made my

assignments more fun.

To revisit the master material I would need the text, readings and the video lectures.

These sources explain the purposes of these assignments and what they are for, which helped

when I was confused reading the assignments. The resources available to me are the text, the

video lectures, the teachers and the tutoring center. Having all of these resources at my disposal
is very helpful when I need to reread or rewatch something or if I have a simple question and

don’t have time to wait.

My attitude influences my performance because it determines how I go about

assignments. My logic influences my performance because it allows me to understand what

certain parts of the assignment mean and what they are for. Lastly, my behavior influences my

performance because I approach each assignment based on how I think I should go about them.

What worked in these assignments was the creative outlets I was able to use to describe these

laws.
