Activities
From the first week of November SHF engaged in online sensitization; using captions,
pictures, info graphics and videos to sensitize the population. This mass media campaign got
to reach over a hundred thousand viewers.
On the 25th of November, we were invited by Mount Cameroon radio to go on air and
sensitize the community on HIV and AIDS stigma.
Another activity carried out by SHF was visiting schools to sensitize the youths; due to the
challenges faced by some school administration, SHF was able to have access just in one
school (Summerset Bilingual High School). On the 3rd of December we carried out an event in
Summerset High school and sensitize the youths. This event lasted for 3hours and we made
the youths’ new ambassadors to advocate for the fight against HIV and AIDS stigma. This
students signed to take part in providing peer-to-peer education on HIV and AIDS in their
communities.
Conclusion
This campaign is still running and we believe to make it sustainable and successful. We will
be glad to welcome partners in order to reach a wider audience to achieve a better result for
our country and continent at large.
