Asymptotic Love

Apollo’s love for her is undying.

Her curled gold hair is enticing.
Her eyes reflect the stars we see at night.
Apollo wished, “Oh dear, how I love to embrace you so tight.”

As he chased her to do so,
Full of hatred, she flew away.
It pains him knowing she was
struck with leaden arrow.
Apollo cried, “Oh, Daphne, please, just stay!”

He was so close to grasping her.
Finally, he can smell victory.
But he heard you pray to Peneus, your father.
“Daphne, you turned into a laurel tree.”

In vain, he crowned his head with her leaves.
Shame, he didn’t even get to kiss her lips.
Apollo said, “With my eternal youth and immortality,
You will not decay and remain evergreen.”
