ABOUT US
SHARP is a premier Non-Government Organization, started by a group of
dedicated doctors, established in 1999 with the objective of providing
quality healthcare to the underprivileged section of the society. Today, it
has grown to be India’s largest school health network, operating in more
than 65 cities and having a workforce of more than 5000.

A result- oriented and technology-driven approach combined with


innovative ideas and professional expertise has enabled us to carry out
scientifically-planned programmes, under the guidance of eminent
Medical Experts, Sociologists, Educationists, Psychologists, Nutritional
Specialists. By collaborating with various companies and Government
bodies, we focus on impacting the healthcare sector through awareness,
education, research, disease screening, health facilities and treatment.
The organization covers 3 million children across 20,000 schools in India
and stands to be the only organisation in India to maintain digitized
health records of students. SHARP has created a network of panel
hospitals to which the individual is referred in case of ailments.

By collaborating with Corporates, Government Bodies and other key


partners for more than 243 projects till date, we are taking forth the vision
of a healthy nation, by adopting a comprehensive approach to make
quality health facilities accessible and affordable for school children and
community people.

Income Tax Act according to specified terms for any type of
donation to the SHARP.).

Treatment Project (The Journey from lice-negative to

❖ FLAME Award- 2013 presented by Rural MAI at Taj Vivanta in
Gurgaon on 17 Jan 2014 presented Gold to Marico Limited for
their project “Mediker Smart Kalakaar Ki Khoj”, “Mediker's Radio
Rockstar” and Journey from Lice- Negative to Lice-Positive,
done in collaboration with SHARP NGO.

OUR APPROACH TO CSR
With the Introduction of Companies Act 2013, Corporate Social
Responsibility in India has taken a new momentum, resulting in increase
in the need of collective on-ground efforts of different stakeholders.
Working closely with schools, communities and local governments,
SHARP provides an enriching platform to its partners in taking their CSR
initiatives to new heights.

In its effort to capture the true spirit of Corporate Social Responsibility,


SHARP promises to provide end-to-end solutions to problems identified
as per the planned thematic areas set by companies. The delivery of
results, based on the alignment of our expertise and the CSR strategy and
philosophy of the company, is ensured with the help of our mobilized
resources, committed team members and rich experience and
accumulated knowledge over the course of 19 years.

From need assessment and conceptualization to effective


implementation and impact evaluation, we strive to ensure that justice is
done to the CSR mandate by utilizing the funds in a manner that it
trickles down to ensure a sustainable and far-reaching impact on the
society.
OUR PROGRAMMES
SCHOOL HEALTHCARE PROGRAMME

The major objective of this programmes is to provide quality health


check-ups to school students. This includes Health Screenings and
consultations by medical experts, providing Health report cards and
maintenance of digitised health records. Over the past 19 years, SHARP
has established itself as the largest School Health Network in India
covering around 10000 schools & 1.8 million students in different parts of
India. We have carried out a comprehensive programme with National
Rural Health Mission (NHRM) in Assam. In this, we have conducted Health
screening for 5 lakh children in Kamrup District, Darrang District &
Jorhat, Assam.
SHARP had also collaborated with Nehru Swasthya Yojana scheme
and conducted health screening of 80,000 students in North-west
Delhi.

General Health Screening include Height, Weight, BMI, deformities and


First Aid. Specialized Health Screening Include Dental, Eye, Ear, Skin. etc.

COMMUNITY HEALTHCARE PROGRAMME

The programme focuses on mapping the health index and providing


comprehensive health services in the rural community and empowering
them by conducting health workshops and awareness programmes in
order to strengthen the local capacity and disseminate methods of
disease control. This also includes mobilization to detect, address and
prevent health problems, ensuring follow-up arrangements and required
treatments to resolve immediate health issues.

EYECARE PROGRAMME

Through this programme, we aim to provide comprehensive eye


check-ups for different sections of the society. This is done with the help
of certified optometrists and ophthalmologists, focussing on both
preventive and curative aspects of eye care. The programme is structured
in two phases: Mobilization & Check ups, followed by free medication and
spectacles distribution as per the need.

SANITATION AND HYGIENE PROGRAMME
Proper Sanitation and Hygiene practices are imperative for Pubic Health
and well being. Through these programmes, we aim to inculcate healthy
habits and best practices among school children and community
members. Some of the important programmes under this area are
Healthy hand-wash, Personal Hygiene, Menstrual Health and Hygiene
and Young Mother’s hygiene programme. This is complimented by
providing quality facilities and services like installation & maintenance of
RO & UV purifiers, sanitary napkins distribution and awareness kits.

The sustainability and efficiency of any social initiative can only be


assured by participation of the local community. Keeping this in mind, we
provide comprehensive workshops and training sessions, with the help of
skilled professionals, aimed at improving the knowledge and skills of the
local populace to lead the initiatives in the most proficient manner.

NUTRITION

In this program we make people aware about the importance of nutrition


and health hazards associated through behavioural change
communication. We conduct pre and post assessment for students and
communities to identify cases of malnutrition, micronutrients deficiency,
etc. and accordingly carry out intervention activities through innovative
means like school championships, interactive games and skill building
activities.

ANSH: Promoting Nutrition, Health, Sanitation, and Hygiene of


adolescent girls and boys

Project ANSH is a multi-state, multi-sector nutrition improvement project


which is run with the support of the Govt. scheme RKSK, covering 1.5
lakh adolescent boys and girls in 4 districts.
The Goal of the project is to support GOI towards achieving the vision of
National Nutrition Mission

PUSHTI: Promoting Nutrition, Health, Sanitation, and Hygiene in


Nabha District of Punjab

PUSHTi is a community-centered initiative to address the immediate


and underlying causes of under nutrition among women, adolescent
girls, and children in northern India. It is implemented in Nabha, one of
the eight development blocks in Patiala district, Punjab.
In Nabha, PUSHTi facilitates increased access to these interventions in
alignment with the Government of India’s provisions through various
nutrition; health; water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH); and rural
development programs.

ENVIRONMENT AND ENERGY

The dire effects of environmental degradation, exploitation of energy


resources and irresponsible disposal of waste are well known. In order to
tackle the issue, we reach out to school students and community
members to spread awareness and train them to tackle these problems.
Through innovative means like Inter-School Championships, Awareness
Sessions, Interactive Games, Etc, we aim to make the young-generation
the flag-bearers of this cause. We also carry out E-waste awareness and
collection drives and tree-plantation drives under this programme.

MEDICAL INTERVENTIONS

Taking on this spirit, SHARP in collaboration with its CSR partners have
impacted the lives of many children with special needs by providing
them with the support that will give them hope and confidence. SHARP
has supported these children with special needs by providing them with

● Hearing aids and prescription and reading glasses
● Wheelchairs
● And surgical interventions were also made like-
● Heart Surgeries
● Cataract Surgeries amongst the elderly
● Cleft palate surgeries

Furthermore, SHARP NGO is also working as a partner with RBSK


(Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram) to help the children to lead a better
and productive life through early intervention.

ROAD SAFETY PROGRAMME

Road accidents are one of the leading causes of deaths in the world.
According to the findings of a study conducted by the Indian Road Safety
commission, it is found that-

● 17 people die every hour on the Indian roads.


● 46 Children die every day on Indian roads.

To educate the next generation and gear them to become more


responsible behind the wheels, SHARP NGO has an extensive school
outreach programme reaching out to over 200k students in 240 schools,
12 locations across the country.
Through the campaign of #HaveYouClickedToday, the aim is to drive the
awareness and also build a strong case for a comprehensive National
Road Safety Law to bridge the policy – implementation gap.
DONATION DRIVES

● SHARP along with implementing its flagship program has never


forgotten the most important virtue of social service and that is
lending a helping hand to the society in times of crises or need.
● SHARP has actively made more than 40,000 shoe donations in Govt.
schools.
● SHARP has also made huge independent donations of shoes,
clothes, and utensils, stretchers for the Kerala Relief Program and 4
leprosy homes in Delhi/ NCR on the occasion of WORLD LEPROSY
DAY.
● The SHARP team in Chennai had also served the Tsunami victims at
the time of crises by providing them with eatables.
EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT
SHARP encourage the employees of various CSR corporates
to be involved in different activities organized on the field.
Depending on the situation in the field, the employees are
briefed about their role on the field and they are given a
chance to interact with the beneficiaries, be a part of the
various activities conducted, they are encouraged to share
their knowledge when we take awareness sessions and this
helps them to look beyond and grow and become socially
committed.
