1.

He decided to conduct this experiment because since the

begging he had a „burning question”. He was wondering if
he could step outside of the Big Ag System, wanting to
see if he could live without going to restaurants or grocery
stores.
2. He liked about his experiment that he managed to eat
extremely healthy for a whole year, without using a single
pesticide, he felt better about himself, he also rescued
some bees from locations where people did not want them
living. He did not like the fact that sometimes he felt lonely
or even isolated.
3. There are a lot of advantages to growing and foraging
100% of your food like Rob Greenfield said: „For the last
year, nature has been my garden, my pantry and my
pharmacy”. He also said that he never got sick during his
experiment due to his healthy lifestyle.Another advantage
is that he learnt how to cook dozens of different healthy
meals, managing to maintain his body weight. There are
some disadvantages to this new lifestyle as
well.Greenfield admitted there had been times when he
had felt like he had been really deficient, mostly in fat and
protein. Also, another disadvantage is the social aspect,
because he was not able to join other people for their
meals or go to restaurants with his family and friends, he
felt lonely many times.
4. Yes, I really believe that an ordinary person would be able
to live like Rob Greenfield did for a year.I truly support the
statement that says: “You can do anything you set your
mind to” because I think the only limit you have is the one
you set yourself.Apart from this, Greenfield confessed that
in the begging he had had very little experience with
growing his own food for the reason that he used to travel
a lot. Therefore, in my opinion, anyone can learn how to
grow and take care of all kinds of plants with a little help
from books, internet and other people.
5. „Big Ag” represents a world in which all farms are owned
by major corporations, which also control the nation's (if
not the world's) supply of seeds, plants, food, machinery
and land.
“The benefit of large scale farming is the reduced cost of
food. Consolidation and vertical coordination have not only
reduced costs, but also expanded diversity of food
products and solved information problems. However, the
expansion of food production has also involved substantial
increases in the use of nitrogen, phosphorus, and water
for irrigation. Negative environmental consequences of
large scale farming can include land degradation, losses
of biodiversity, excessive use of pesticides, causing
concerns about health impacts on humans and other
species, excessive emissions of carbon and criteria
pollutants, animal waste disposal issues, etc. Some also
argue that large-scale farming has contributed to health
issues including obesity and to the detriment of farmers,
consumers and farm workers through the exercise of
market power. The evidence in support of such charges is,
however, very weak, and plentiful economic arguments
suggest that large-scale agriculture will perform best in
terms of food safety.”
6. I believe that it is an inspirational video because Rob
Greenfield supports an extremely healthy lifestyle, a
different way of living.I think it is a great idea to grow and
cook your own daily meals.Although, in my opinion, the
proteins we would usually get from meat should be
replaced with something else for the reason that we also
need them in order to have a healthy body. All in all, I
sustain his brilliant experiment and admire his powerful
ambition because I do not believe that it was an easy
journey.
