I. Read the following text about weightlifting and choose the correct
answer accordingly.

An Amazing Sport

Weightlifting is the sport of lifting the maximum possible weight. It requires a
combination of power (strength and speed), technique, flexibility and
consistency. When all these qualities are combined the result is fantastic.
Weightlifting is one of the most exciting sports at the Olympic Games.
To be a weightlifter you need to have very strong muscles. Lifting the weight
requires you to use every muscle in your body, but your leg muscles must be
especially strong. To train these muscles weightlifters lift very heavy weights in
training. Top weightlifters lift about 20,000 kilograms a day. That is the same
weight as 15 mid-sized cars!
Training for weightlifting is usually done in a gym. First, a weightlifter warms up
by running, rowing or cycling. Next, they lift some lighter weights to prepare
their muscles. Finally, they load a steel bar with hundreds of kilograms of steel
plates and go for it! While they lift, their coach is watching them to make sure
they use the proper technique. Technique is very important because you can
get injured badly if you lift the wrong way.
Since the invention of the sport, competitive weightlifting has become a popular
spectator sport. The audience appreciates the high level of skill and years of
training required to compete. Seeing a small person lift a huge weight is
amazing. Seeing a big person lift an even huger weight is amazing, too!
Spectators also enjoy the tense atmosphere created when lifters try to lift heavy
weights. Can they lift it? That is the question that makes weightlifting so
