This letter written by Martin Luther King in prison is trying to open the eyes of both the group of

clergymen and all the people who are part of American society. He is trying to make visible the fact that
the life of black people is quite hard and difficult because of the racism they exert over the black race.
The introduction of the concepts ethos, pathos, logos, have a purpose, namely and that of convincing
people that black people must have the same rights as white people, also the concepts in turn are an
instrument of credibility. White people need to be aware of their actions and that the repression they
exert on black people has no reason.

I totally agree with the audiences of this letter that Roxana has identified, and yes, I agree that your
arguments are based on words in the text to support them. The fact that Martin Luther King chose to
write a letter without hatred, a letter that does not create a new revolt demonstrates a peaceful
behavior, a behavior that the audiences of the letter should observe and begin to put in the practice
leaving aside the injustices and the repression they have exercised over the black society over time.
Black people should not be treated with racism; they should be respected just like all other people and
people should not refer to them with the word “boy”, which, in my opinion, is also an offense for blacks.
