QUALITY FUNCTION DEPLOYMENT

In quality function deployment technique, we plan for a project according to the customers
requirement. One way is that we manufacture the product according to demands of the
customer and supply it to the market for the sale which is not so beneficial because in this
way some of the customers who want more modified product will not purchase that
product. Another way is to design the product before manufacturing according to the
customers requirement and then we manufacture the product. In this way the customers
which want modification in that product can buy that required product. The diagram which
is given is the house of quality diagram for the cell phone product. First we see what to
design and how to design the phone required according to the customers requirement. Then
we establish the house of quality for the required phone product. In this diagram, we can
see that there are three phones which are required according to the customers requirement.
For each of the phone, there is marking or we can say points awarded for the functions that
are in the phone or are not in the phone. Which phone has which function and which are
not, they are marked in this diagram. They are marked according to the customers
requirement and on that basis the company will be able to manufacture the required phones.
This diagram will help us to elaborate which product is currently having which function
and which product needs to be modified and have to be improved for customers
satisfaction. The advantage at the end will be that when the customers will buy the phones
with the advanced functions then there will be increase in the profit for the company. Not
only there will be increase in the profit but there will be increase in the salaries for the
employees working in that company. As long as the company keep manufacturing the new
advanced product there will be increase in the profit and there will also be increase in the
customers satisfaction which will bring more and more customers because of those
customers which have bought those advanced product and by telling it to their relatives,
friends then the company will be keep growing.
