The shaft bore bushing has been removed from all standard NT camfollower levers
beginning early 1987. Extensive testing has shown the bushing is not required as a
bearing surface.
In order to eliminate the bushing, the bore diameter was reduced to the fininshed
dimension to fit the shaft and an annular groove was added to the Inside diameter to aid
lubrication.
When a lever bore wears beyond reuse guidelines it can be machined for a bushing.
However, maintaining the correct geometry is critical and requires precision machine
