What COVID-19 is?
The world is currently experiencing a pandemic of an infectious disease called coronavirus disease 2019. Coronaviruses are transmitted from animals to people, with this particular strain of coronavirus thought to have originated from a seafood market in the city of Wuhan in China in late December of 2019. The disease causes respiratory illness (like the flu) with symptoms such as a cough, fever, and in more severe cases, difficulty breathing. People may be sick with the virus for 1 to 14 days before developing symptoms. This disease can be serious or even fatal for older people and people with other medical conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, or heart disease), may be more vulnerable to becoming severely ill. Wash your hands regularly for 20 seconds, with soap and water or alcohol-based hand rub Cover your nose and mouth with a disposable tissue or flexed elbow when you cough or sneeze Avoid close contact (1 meter or 3 feet) with people who are unwell. Stay home and self-isolate from others in the household if you feel unwell. The lockdown has been imposed in many of the countries as a precaution to stop corona virus from spreading. All markets, shopping malls, restaurants, public beaches, and other public spots are closed. All schools, colleges, and universities across the world are closed. It’s throwing the world into recession. Economies shuddered to a halt when people were forced to hunker down at home. The coronavirus outbreak is first and foremost a human tragedy, affecting hundreds of thousands of people. It is also having a growing impact on the global economy.
