Commercials are part of our day to day.

They appeared with the invention of television as a way to

generate income for television stations. Nonetheless, I personally believe that commercials are a
waste of time for viewers for a number of reasons.

To begin with, commercials are not useful at all. It is because they are too repetitive that they are
always showing the same products. You will never be able to know and get helpful information
about new inventions. For example, since I was a child, I am always watching the same commercial
about soaps.

Furthermore, those commercial breaks make viewers spend more time in front of a TV. With
those appearing in the middle of your favorite movies every 5 minutes, it is not possible to really
enjoy watching TV. For instance, a movie lasting 2 hours, it will take you 3 or even more hours to
be able to finish it just because of commercial breaks.

Finally, commercials just increase consumerism in people. Viewers tend to spend money on thing
they do not need. It is caused by the excessive advertising. Generally, people who tend to buy
thing they watch on TV, later, they do not use those products at all. In my personal experience, my
brother bought a painting machine that he saw on television, he used it once and since then it has
been stored in his own box.

Summing up, the way I see it, commercials are completely unnecessary. They do not help people,
instead of that, they encourage people to buy useless things and make them waste their time. In
my opinion, they should improve in order to offer people a really good experience with TV.
