Ceramic art is a form of art that is normally made from ceramic materials

like clay. The usual example of ceramic materials is in a form of a vessel,

brick, tile, glass, or even cement. Ceramic art it is considered a visual art or
plastic art due to the distinct beauty it gives off. But others consider ceramics
as fine art, pottery, or sculpture. Some use it for decorative or industrial
purposes.
The word "ceramic" comes from the Greek word keramikos, meaning
"pottery". Most of the ceramic products in the past are made of clay and only
had minimal changes in terns of processes. In our modern world, potters have
developed new methods to produce ceramics for other purposes. They also
made ceramics more durable than in the past because of the new
technologies. Minerals are commonly used in the production of ceramics. The
mineral is a kind of an element or chemical compound, normally crystalline,
that is found in rocks or in the Earth’s crust. Sometimes they use minerals in
human teeth and bones to harden the ceramic.
Pottery is a method of forming vessels and other objects with clay and
other ceramic materials. The place where the ceramic is made by pottery is
also called ‘pottery’. It is one of the oldest and remarkable inventions by a
human in the past. It is said it first existed 12000 years ago, in the Neolithic
period.
There are different types of clay that are used to make a ceramics.
Earthenware is a kind of pottery that has not been fired to vitrification and is
therefore permeable. Vitrification, by definition, is a transformation of a
substance into a glass. Stoneware is a kind vitreous or semi-vitreous ceramic
that is made mainly from stoneware clay or non-refractory fire clay. Porcelain
is a type of ceramic material made by heating materials, generally including
kaolinite in a kiln to temperatures between 1200 to 1400 degrees Celsius.
Lastly, Bone china is a type of soft-paste porcelain that is composed of bone
ash, feldspathic material, and kaolinite.
