SUBJECT: Error Code Explanation for Software Version 5.1 of the
Unit-Control Monitoring System

DESCRIPTION OF CONCERN
An explanation of the different error codes for
software version 5.1 of the unit-control monitoring
system may not be available in a repair manual or in
an operator’s manual.

Software version 5.1 was used in production at these


serial numbers:

ACTION/CORRECTION
This service bulletin defines the different error codes
for software version 5.1 of the unit-control monitoring
system.

It is recommended that a copy of this Service Bulletin


be put into the appropriate Parts Catalogs/Repair
Manuals for reference.

Unit-Control Monitoring System

Service:
Refer to the lists of system (MUX), engine (EDC) and
automatic transmission (TCU) error codes that are
attached at the end of this bulletin. Each list identifies
what error code information appears at the bottom of
the multifunctional display, 1, identifies which warning
lights illuminate on the instrument panel, and provides
general and troubleshooting information.

Use this table to reference the abbreviations used in


the lists of error codes:
