มีชายหนุ่มคนหนึ่งมีอาชีพเป็นชาวประมง

There was once a fisherman

เขาเป็นคนขยันขันแข็งไม่มีใครเทียบ

He was trying so hard that no

one can even complete.
วันหนึ่งเขาไปสมัครทำงานตกปลาในเมือง เจ้านาย
รับเขาเข้าทำงาน

One day, he decided to go and to the town and

become a fisherman there.
และบอกว่าถ้าจับปลาได้มากก็จะได้เงินเดือนมาก
จับปลาได้น้อยก็ได้เงินเดือนน้อย
The manager accepted him and says that “the more he
catches the higher his salary gets, the less he catch the
lower the salary”.
ชาวประมงดีใจ

He is happy
วันแรกที่เขาจับปลา เขาจับปลารวมแล้วได้มากถึง 10
กิโล วันต่อๆ มาเพิ่มขึ้นเป็น 11 กิโล 13กิโล ต้น จน
กระทั่ง 17 กิโล
The first day of his work, he catches a total of more than
10 kg, the next day he then fished up to 11kg then 13kg
until he fished 17kg the day after.
 เจ้านายชื่นชม เพื่อนฝูงทึ่งเขา แต่คง
ไม่เท่ากับความภาคภูมิใจของตัวเอง
While the manager praises him, his friends ditched him.
But to him, it doesnt matter as it doesnt hurt him as he
is enjoying himself
เขาบอกตัวเองว่า เขาจะต้องทำงานให้ดีที่สุด
ต้องแข่งกับตัวเอง โดยต้องจับปลาให้ได้มาก
ขึ้นทุกวัน…

He told himself that he will work harder.

ชาวประมงตื่นเช้ามากขึ้นทำงานจนดึกทุกวันเพื่อ
เพิ่มผลผลิต
The fisherman starts to wake up early more often and
keeps working until night to not waste any time.
แต่เขาพบว่า เขาไม่เคยจับปลาได้เกิน 17 กิโล
อีกเลยไม่ว่าจะพยายามแค่ไหน
However, he found out that he has never
actually fished more than 17kg in a day no
matter how much he tried.
 เพียงไร ชาวประมงทดท้อมาก

The fisherman, now demoralized.

 เขาเข้าไปหาเจ้านายและบอกว่า

now meets up with the manager

and tells him
เขาไม่อยากทำงานจับปลาอีกแล้ว

that he no longer wants to fish.

 ทำไมล่ะ…เจ้านายถาม

”But why?” asked the manager.

ผมไม่มีความสามารถ ดูสิ…ผมทุ่มเทเวลา กำลังกาย
กำลังใจทั้งหมดให้กับการจับปลา

“I dont have the talent, can’t you see? I

have poured my time and effort to fishing
แต่ผมกลับจับปลาได้น้อยลงกว่าเดิม

and I keep catching less and less

fish.
ผมไม่ควรจับปลาอีกต่อไป

I am not cut out for fishing.

เจ้านายยิ้ม…ตบไหล่เขาเบาๆ เธอไม่ได้ทำงานได้
น้อยลงนะ
The manager smiled and consoled the
fisherman, “Your fishing skills havent
decreased.
แต่เธอลืมไปอย่างหนึ่งในการจับปลา……เธอไม่สามารถ
กำหนดได้หรอกว่าปลาจะมาตอนไหน
but you have forgotten one thing about
fishing.You can not tell the fish to come
whenever you want.
และอีกอย่างนึงไปเปลี่ยนแหสักที
….มันขาดลุ่ยหมดแล้ว….
and lastly replace your net now,
its torning apart
