Ethanol is pure alcohol meaning it is corrosive and may burn your throat if you
consume it
- Why can gold be found as a nugget, but sodium can’t?
Sodium is highly reactive and so it violently reacts with air to form other compounds.
This is why sodium can’t be found in its pure form whereas gold is. Very low in
reactivity so it can’t be found in its pure form.
- What is slag and what has it got to do with iron?
Slag is produced by adding limestone, lime, silica to strip impurities from iron ores.

This is because that is where the plastic was sealed together
- Why do we feel wet and clammy on hot days if we wear nylon but not if we wear
cotton?
Nylon is designed to trap heat, be water resistant and isn’t breathable meaning on a
hot day it will trap heat and make us feel hotter.
