PROCEDURE FOR UNLATCHING BOP STACK CONNECTOR Ensure that the tensioner pull and CMC tension combined will hold all but 100,000 Ibs, of BOP stack and riser. Use weight that was recorded at time BOP was run, Have ROV ensure that riser connector is in lock position and move into position to observe indicator on stack connector before unlocking stack connector. Once ROV has moved into Position proceed as follows: lock the following functions: Upper annular Lower annular Blind shear rams Upper pipe rams Middle pipe rams Lower pipe rams Inner and outer gas relief valves Upper inner and outer choke valves Upper inner and outer kill valves Stack connector gasket Choke and kill isolation valves (normally open) Riser connector gasket — vent 2. Open the following functions: ‘A. Lower inner and outer choke vaives B. Lower inner and outer kill valves, C. Mud boost valve 3. Leave the following functions in the same position: ‘A. Blue and yellow pod stabs — extend B._ Riser connector — lock C._ Riser connector secondary unlock — vent D. Choke and kill stabs — lock E. Riser connector gasket ~ vent Reduce the annular regulators to 500 PSI Unlock the stack connector. Confirm indicator oa stack connector is in up position. Close hydraulic conduit, blue and yellow pod hydraulic supply. Pressure should not exceed 4800 PSI at any time. If pressure starts to exceed this amount reduce the BOP accumulator pressure by going to dump and returning to charge. Wait for pressure to stabilize and continue to dump and return to charge, waiting for pressure to stabilize at desired pressure below 4800 PSI left on accumulator bottles. Isolate BOP accumulator bottles, Reduce pressure in the blind shear ram bottles by using the same procedure as described in item 7 until pressure stabilizes at desired pressure, not exceeding 4800 PSI. Reduce the pressure in the pilot bottles below 4800 PSI by same procedure as described in item 7. ‘Open rigid conduit flush valve, Have ROV move into position to verify pressure is exhausted. 1, Stack is now ready for driller to pick up and start stack-pulling operations.
