Dear May

By Kyla Choi

Dear Lovely May

Do you remember that genial day
When you walked towards me
Wagging your tail friendly

That tiny little puppy grew up

And now became a big white cotton candy
I feel like I’m flying up
To the sky when you look at me

I hope you are having a good time

In this busy family

But it might not be a happy time

You cannot eat whatever you want
You cannot do whatever you like
You cannot go whenever you want

Because you are a dog that needs protection

Dear Gorgeous May

You should remember we are always with you
We always think of you,
we always love you
And we cherish all the time
That we spend with you
'Dear May' is the poem that conveys the sorriness and love for "May"
that I couldn't express on a usual day by writing a letter. The stanzas
show the first meeting with the "May," her limited lifestyle, and our
family's emotions towards "May".
