Reflections
After I finished this project, I learned how to reverse the process from knowing what’s
the determinant of the matrix first then, find the matrix that’s match the determinant I want, in
this project is 1 with 5x5 matrix. At first, I look at the question 3b on the assignment matrix
week 4 day 3. Then, I started to notice that the easiest way, in my opinion, to create a matrix
that has the determinant of 1 is to create a matrix that has all zero in a row or column other than
furthest left or right of the line which is 1. Also, the 4x4 matrix inside that number 1 has to has
a row or column that has three 0 and one 1. And this rule is applied until its gets to the 2x2
matrix which the formula for finding the determinant is ad - bc. So, in this case, I use a and d =
4, b=5, c=3 to get 16-15=1.
Apart from this, I feel more proficient on calculating the encoded matrix and also the
other way round. I also get to use the inverse matrix formula of AA^-1=I to find the decoding
matrix. However, there are also obstacles that I encounter during the project, especially, the
creating encoding matrix which it took quite some times for me to finally know how it works.
