As a whole class, we decided on our topics and ideas using a poll so that we can decide using the majority of the voice. The table was also created for turning messages into codes. After deciding on each part, we separated the work and did it individually. Each person got 35 letters to encode and decode which was perfectly multiplied on a 5 dimension square matrix. This work helps me to apply the knowledge of matrices that we have learnt on the given task. By doing this project, | can review all the information | have learnt and practice to use the knowledge of finding determinant, inverse matrix and multiplication. | chose to find determinant using expansion by cofactor method. One of the questions in our homework was useful for finding the determinant which | can understand why doing exercises would improve our skills. The encoding part was done multiple the message of 1x5 dimension matrix with the key of 5x5 dimension matrix that has a determinant of 1 to get the codes. While the encoding part is to multiply codes with the inverse of key to get the message as a final answer. At the beginning, | was also struggling on what the project is about and how | can show my work. | first thought that writing by hand would be able to clarify my process of work better so | decided to do it by hand and make them as neat as possible as it is a project replacing an exam. | spent lots of my time doing and checking the processes carefully since all the calculations have to be really precise because it can affect the rest of the calculation. The most challenging part for me was the inverse matrix because there are many steps and | had made mistakes quite often. However, | can pass through and be able to finish the project assigned
