Director General Sh. Joshi said that despite of COVID-19 lockdown, the farming sector is functioning
smoothly and there is no much impact on its growth. However, its Supply Chain Networks requires
contactless delivery mechanism. If similar solutions can be built for agriculture sectors and farmers,
he would be more than willing to take it to government and explore the possibility of implementing
such solutions. He encouraged students to work on such innovative technology startups to create
solutions for government and primary sector. He also spoke about the need of new technology and
localized innovative solutions for various government programs.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar spoke eloquently on the need of
innovation and entrepreneurship in Post-Pandemic business environment. Encouraging the students,
he said that the country has high hopes from young engineering in Covid-19 crisis as they can
contribute in rebooting the post-corona economy with innovative startup solutions.

The session was followed by an interactive panel discussion with experts from within the industry
which was moderated by Mr. Ajay Sharma, Adjunct Faculty in the University. The discussion was
focused on exploring the opportunities to provide local solutions to local problems.

Vice Chancellor also posed the question to the panel about the possible solution for migratory
labour problem especially keeping in mind the humanitarian aspects. He encouraged students to
come forward and offer innovative technology based solutions to current and future problems, and
assured that university will provide them full support and guidance. He asserted that corporate
sector needs to focus on local talent and local procurement to realize the vision of Aatma-nirbhar
Bharat and invited industry representative to collaborate with university students to find innovative
local solutions.
During the panel discussion, Sh. Rameesh Kailasam, a renowned expert in Policy Formation,
Government Reforms and a business strategist, currently heading IndiaTech.org (a not-for-profit
start-up industry association voice) spoke about the changes in policy framework which government
is introducing to facilitate ease of doing business in India. He gave an example how an Online Travel
Portal company has to have offices in all 37 States and GST registration to operate from India, but it
can do business with same client all over India with just one branch, if they setup office outside
India. He told the students and participants to focus on brining technology innovations to solve local
problems, but keep an eye for global markets.

Dr. Ashok Kumar, an Expert from Manufacturing Industry, spoke about the new opportunities and
possibilities which will arise in the Manufacturing Sector after COVID-19, especially after slew of
measures and incentives announced by government of India to promote Aatm-Nirbhar Bharat and
companies looking to shift their manufacturing out of China. He insisted that students should keep a
positive outlook and work on enhancing their core skills during the lockdown period.

Sh. Suneel Wattal, Joint Chief Information and Technology Officer, Dept. of IT, Electronics, and
Communications, Govt. of Haryana, spoke about the problems emerging due to this pandemic and
their long term impact on people’s approach to life and changed priorities. In the evolving scenario,
he insisted that more focus will be on reduced physical contact and substantial increase in remote
working. In such times, startups need to focus on technology and innovation, as that is going to be
the key to success in these unusual circumstances.

Sh. Vivek Mittal, Senior Staff Engineer at Synopsys India (P) Ltd. and also being an alumnus, talked
about how Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning will hold the key to a better future. More and
more companies would adopt technology to reduce human interventions. Thus, more scope in these
technologies and related products. In the end, Registrar Dr. S. K. Garg proposed the formal vote of
thanks.

The webinar was concluded with a question-answer session in which the students clarified their
doubts with the experts on various start-up opportunities in post-pandemic situation and how to
