It is a terminal station on 42nd Street and Park Avenue
in Midtown Manhattan in New York City. Built and named by the New York Central Railroad at the height of the long-distance trains of the United States, and is the largest train station in the world in number of orders: 3 44, with 67 tracks along the station. There are two levels, both underground, with 41 tracks on the upper level and 26 on the lower level. When the new Long Island Railroad station is opened under access levels (see East Side Access), the Grand Central station will have a total of 75 tracks and 48 platforms.
