Q1/ What are the Master Scheduling of Aggregate Planning?

Answers:

Aggregate planning is the process of planning the quantity and timing of output. It is
the intermediate range capacity planning, usually covering 2 to 12 months. It is
focusing on the production rates, staffing and other labor-related factors, and
inventory holdings. based on estimates of customer requirements and capacity
limitations. Aggregate planning is a link between long-range and short-range plans.

Master scheduling follows aggregate planning. it determines quantities needed to


meet demand and interfaces with marketing, capacity planning, production planning,
distribution planning. thus It is the overall plan in terms of the amounts of items to
produce and dates to produce them. According to Master Scheduling Process, the plan
uses information from forecasts and customer orders and beginning inventory for the
production activities.

Q2/ What are the Aim and benefits’ of MRP?

Answers:

MRP has three aims:

1. Making available either purchased or company manufacturing assemblies just


before they are required by the next stage of production or for delivery
2. Enabling orders to be tracked throughout the entire manufacturing process and
assists purchasing
3. Controlling departments to move the right supplies at the right time to
manufacturing or distribution points

MRP has five benefits:

1. Increased customer satisfaction due to meeting delivery schedules


2. Faster response to market changes
3. Improved labor and equipment utilization
4. Better inventory planning and scheduling
5. Reduced inventory levels without reduced customer service
