unde Wenfrat eI GST INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY KHARAGPUR Administrative Notification No. 48 / 2020 Dated June 10, 2020 Ref: 1) Administrative Notification No, 32 / 2020 Dated April 02, 2020 2) Administrative Notification No. 36 / 2020 Dated April 05, 2020 3) Administrative Notification No, 39/2020 Dated April 15, 2020 This has reference to the Administrative Notifications dated 02.04.2020, 05.04.2020 and 15.04.2020 regarding continuance of mess & other institute facilities in the Halls and Campus during the summer vacation and re-revised Academic Calendar of the Academic Session 2019-20. ‘The undersigned is to convey that the Senate at its 332" meeting held on 27" May 2020 declared that the Spring Semester of 2019-20 Academic Session is closed and all academic activities to be completed within 15" June 2020, ‘As per order No. 40-3/2020-DM-I(A) dated 30 May 2020 issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, the Unlock-1 to re-open prohibited activities in a phase manner in the areas outside Containment Zones have been implemented with effect from 1* June 2020. Moreover, there shall be no restriction on inter-State and intra- State movement of persons and goods. No separate permission / approval / e-permit are required for such movements. Due to this, we have now entered in phase of new normal Also, MHRD has indicated that the Academic activities in the Institutes should start from 16" August, 2020. Due to the above reasons, itis observed that a good number of students have left the campus for their home during recent past time. At present, more than 3000 students are still staying in the hostel/halls. About 1000 students out of about 3000 students have informed us their plan of leaving campus shortly. The matter was also discussed and reviewed in the Deans and Heads’ meeting held on June 9, 2020 in totality In this regard, it is relevant to mention that the Institute has made all possible arrangements to provide mess and other Institute facilities in the Halls and Campus during the lockdown period. However, since the Academic Session 2019-20 has been closed and all academic activities will be completed within 15" June 2020 and the normal academic functioning may start only from September, we request the students (UG, PG, Research Scholars, etc) and the project staffs who are presently staying in hostels/halls/VSRC to proceed for their home now. The Institute will close mess facilities in all hostels/halis/etc with effect from 20" June 2020. It may be noted that itis expected the Academic Session 2020-2021 may start sometime in September 2020 and for that a separate notification will be issued to all students well in advance, so that they can join the Institute smoothly. The Institute is working on the academic calendar for the session 2020-21 and the same shall be notified at the appropriate time separately ‘The Dean of Students’ Affairs and all Heads of the Department/Centre/school are requested to bring it to the notice of all the students and the project staffs for compliance.
