Other requirements: Installation and online play requires log-in to the Rockstar
Games Social Club (13+) network; internet connection required for activation,
online play, and periodic entitlement verification; software installations required
including Rockstar Games Social Club platform, DirectX, Chromium, and Microsoft
Visual C++ 2008 sp1 Redistributable Package, and authentication software that
recognizes certain hardware attributes for entitlement, digital rights management,
system, and other support purposes.
Over time downloadable content and programming changes will change the system
requirements for this game. Please refer to your hardware manufacturer and
www.rockstargames.com/support for current compatibility information. Some system
components such as mobile chipsets, integrated, and AGP graphics cards may be
incompatible. Unlisted specifications may not be supported by publisher.
Grand Theft Auto V PC requires the installation of software and components

2) INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Steps:
1. (Disc version only) Insert the 'Grand Theft Auto V' (Disc 1) into your DVD-ROM
drive.
If the installer does not start, open your DVD-ROM drive folder and double click on
the 'Setup' icon.
2. You will begin installation of Grand Theft Auto V. Please follow the on-screen
directions until the installation process is complete.
3. Other components such as DirectX and Microsoft .NET and Visual C++ software
will then be installed if required. Please follow the on-screen directions.
4. In order to play Grand Theft Auto V you do not need the DVD in your drive.
5. Click on the 'Grand Theft Auto V' icon to start Grand Theft Auto V. The game
will download and install updates if available.
6. You will be asked to create a Social Club account or to sign into an existing
account.
7. You will be prompted to enter your Rockstar Activation Code to perform a one-
time product activation via the internet. You can find the Rockstar Activation Code
on the back of your manual or in the email you received at the time of purchase.
Please note that the game includes a release date check, and will not activate
until the release date has passed. If you fail to connect, or the process fails,
please visit www.rockstargames.com/support for details. Please keep your game
manual as additional Rockstar Activation Codes are not available.

3) PATCHING

Grand Theft Auto V includes an automatic patching system. When you run the game it
will check for new patches, and can automatically download and install them if they
are available.
Please note that the Steam version uses Steam's patching system.
Patches are also available for manual download from www.rockstargames.com/support.

6) PC CONTROLS INFORMATION

Grand Theft Auto V PC supports mouse and keyboard, Xinput controllers such as the
Xbox 360 pad for Windows.
All control types can be used interchangeably. For instance you can use mouse and
keyboard for on-foot, then switch to a Xbox 360 controller at any time without
having to change any options.
For mouse and keyboard and Xinput controllers the in-game help will update
automatically to show the correct keys/buttons for the last control method you
used.

Note: If you need help with a PC title please attach your DxDiag and MSinfo when
contacting us.
For instructions on how to get this information, please follow steps below:
- Go to Start > Search and type 'dxdiag' (without quotes please) in the text
field and press enter.
- Wait for 'green' progress bar to finish loading and then press the 'Save All
Information...'� button
- Name the file with some useful info, like your name and the date, and save it
where you can find it, like the Desktop, by pressing the 'Save' button
- Press the 'Exit' button to quit this application
- Go to Start > Search and type 'msinfo32' (without quotes please) in the text
field and press enter.
- When the 'System Information' window is open, click on 'File' in the top
toolbar and select the 'Export...' option
- Name the file with some useful info, like your name and the date, and save it
where you can find it, like the Desktop, by pressing the 'Save' button
- The export process can take a few moments, so please wait for the progress
bar to finish, and then you can close this application
Be sure to include a detailed description of the problem you are having and the
text of any detailed error messages that appear. It will also help us if you can
send a screenshot of the error message along with both text files.
- Making sure not to close any open error 'window', click on the 'Title Bar' of
the window to make it the active window
- Press both the 'Alt' and 'PrintScreen' keys at the same time
- Still making sure to not close the error 'window' yet, go to Start > Run and
type 'mspaint'� (without quotes please) in the text field and press enter.
- With the 'Paint' application now open, press 'Ctrl' + 'V' keys at the same
time to paste Printscreen data into the app. Alternatively, you can go to the
'Edit' menu near the title bar and choose 'Paste'
- You should see the error dialog window, and just this window pasted into the
application. If you see your whole desktop, go back to the first steps and make
sure to click 'Alt' while performing the 'Printscreen' keypress
- Click 'File' from the top menu bar, and choose 'Save As...'
- In the 'Save as type' pull-down menu at the bottom of the page, select the
'JPEG' option to decrease file size before uploading file to support
- Name your file with useful info, such as your name and date, and save it
somewhere you can easily find it, like your Desktop
- Close the Paint program when done
