The 20's

They are called "the happy" or "the crazy" or "the golden twenties." There was a lot of
boldness, music and a new world.
They were years of splendor for the arts, communication and customs where cultural
expressions were made for the 20th and 21st centuries.
It was a golden period where through cinema and thanks to films such as Midnight in Paris
as well as the highest grossing of Woody Allen.
It was also then that the use of telephones, Ford brand cars, household appliances that
create a life of comfort became popular.
In Mexico, Frida Kahlo, a pioneer of surrealism and popular culture in Latin America, was
in that decade a high school and university student, but she was already part of a group of
rebel intellectuals protesting social injustices.
The best part was when jazz pioneers Louis Armstrong and Billie Holiday came up with
their music careers thanks to Benny Goodman who took jazz off the streets and introduced
it to concert halls.
In painting and sculpture there are several trends but the one that appears strongly is
surrealism, by Picasso and Dalí, the German Max Ernst, the Swiss Paul klee, the Italians
Modigliani among others
