Continuous over net return – Net/Wall Court

Principle of play:
With possession (offence) Without possession (conservation)
Place object within boundaries where it cannot Be in a position to cover all areas of the court
be returned

Aim:
The aim of this activity is for players to understand and think about pre and post movements
of making a shot in game play.

Set up:
Play field can be any net/wall court space ie. tennis court, volleyball court, badminton.

Primary Rules:
• Two teams
• 1 player from each team must start on the court, the rest of the team will line up
behind their half of the court
• The object will be served by one player over the net, once a shot is made the player
who makes the shot must exit to the side of the court. This will occur for both teams.
A new player will track into the court from the back line but can only enter once the
player that made the previous shot has exited the court. This incoming player can then
strike the object back over the net
• This will continue until play breaks down

Scoring:
1 point will be awarded to the team whom serves the object over the net and it is not returned,
not returned in play or hits the ground. Scoring does not need to occur within beginning to
teach this game.

Progressions:
Once players become familiar with the game, changes to primary rules can be made to
achieve an intended purpose of an activity. If wanting to teach movement skill action, a
primary rule that can be added to this activity is play a certain type of shot, ie. players can
only make backhand shots.
