 Prepare the solution of paracetamol

in suitable solvent.
 Take some tablets and crush them in
powdered form.
 Weigh 100 mg of paracetamol into
100ml of volumetric flask then add 15
ml of methanol and shake well to
dissolve it.
 Add 85 ml of water to adjust the
volume up to 100 ml.
 Draw 1 ml of solution and put in 100
ml volumetric flask.
 Adjust the volume with diluent up to
100 ml.
 In single beam UV spectrometer that
has only one cuvette compartment,
place the methanol, which is our base
in the cuvette.
 Go to absorption spectra by pressing
2.
 Press zero for baseline correction.
 Now add the sample in the 3/4th of
the cuvette.
 Press start to obtain spectrum.
 Press F2 to check the maximum
absorption.
 Make several standards of the sample
that is change in concentrations and
name them 0, 1, 2, 3 ,4 and 5 and
compare the maximum absorptions.
