SUMMARY

This summary contains the research carried out on various routing protocols that
are implemented on wireless sensor networks. Different parameters are
calculated using these protocols including energy efficiency, data aggregation,
power consumption, hopping strategies, routing strategies, packet loss, end to
end delay and sampling rate. Moreover, comparisons between all the routing
protocols are illustrated in the researches that have been performed. The
following table summarizes the different parameters of various wireless sensor
network protocols:
The protocols are compared with respect to classification, power usage,
scalability, query based, overhead, data delivery model, QoS. The protocol to be
implemented on a specific application depends upon the requirement of the
application be it power efficiency. If we observe the table attached, one or more
parameters are made efficient and the others are a tradeoff. The power is
calculated using propagation model formula. Hop numbers are calculated using
long hop and short hop techniques and with the help of hop length total power
consumed is obtained. Several other sources provided nearly identical data as
mentioned in the table attached.
