Sarah is a graduate trainee in a multi- national food retailer (BB's), She joined the firm last year and is coming to the end of the training programme. She works in a large team, and has good relations with everyone else on the team. She hopes to be taken on as a permanent employee at the end of her training programme, however nat all graduate trainees will be taken on because BB's has been negatively affected by the Uncertainty surrounding Brexit. Unfortunately all the other graduate trainees also want to stay with BB's too Sarah is aware of climate change protests, including Extinction Rebellion, and while she is not a member of that group, she strongly shares their concerns about climate change. From the modules that she took at Oxford Brookes University as part of her business degree, she knows that climate change is likely to have a significant impact nat only an poorer countries, but also on supply chains and food production globally. There is now a call from climate change activists for members of the public, including school children and workers, to join a second global walk out for 1 hour at midday on 20 September 2020 Saran thinks that it is very important that she joins the strike and wants to encourage all her colleagues to join it too. University friends who think the same way as she does, and are employed in ather MNC, are emailing their colleagues, putting messages on facebook and posters in staff kitchens to encourage a walk aut. Saran is aware that her new line manager, Tony, is not sympathetic and has made very negative comments about Greta Thunberg, school strikes and climate change concerns in general 1 As far as Sarah knows, colleagues in BB's did not take part in last year's walkout (she joined the firm in October 2019), nor do they seem particularly concerned about climate change. Climate change is not mentioned at all in BB's CSR reporting or corporate strategy She is also worried about Tony's attitude, especially since he will have a say in whether she is taken on permanently by BB's. The other graduate trainees do not seem to share her cancems about climate change. What action should Sarah take about the strike? Note: Your answer should demonstrate a capacity for ethical reasoning and MUST: 1. Use the seven step ethical decision making framework that is used in class and provided on moodle; And 2.
