RETROSPECTING QA

In the arena of teaching-learning process, nothing beats the QUALITY that an

educational program creates. Making sure that in every miniscule bit of the
school curriculum, quality should be the end goal.

We never doubted ourselves when my business partner and I put up a small

school in Cavite. We have armed ourselves with excellent education, being UP
graduates in the College of Education, with enough teaching experiences we got
from previous schools we worked with.

We started with QUALITY ASSURANCE as an important element in the

production of learning materials, acquisition of equipment and even in our
recruitment process. We have to set the standard two or three level higher than
other private school competitors. Research and feasibility studies became our
primary grounds. They were our management menus to achieve the mission and
vision of our school. Although failure at times came along the way, we were
never shaken. We have to assiduously take a closer look at those pitfalls so we
can prevent them from happening again.

Our school principal and school administrator are QUALITY ASSURANCE

AGENTS. The two people have to take the responsibility of reliable execution of
the school’s programs and policies in the areas of teacher development, school’s
infrastructure and other significant areas of how to run a school efficiently.

The school’s finance department carefully and meticulously checks monthly

expenses in order to avoid waste of money and financial resources.

In other words, the quality assurance performed by the school principal and the
administrator gears particularly to the following goals: creating a conducive
learning environment, ensuring teachers highly commendable classroom
managers, evaluating both teachers and pupils performance and ensuring
quality execution of the school curriculum.

Quality has been the issue directly thrown towards distance learning, e-learning
and Open University programs. Many have doubted and too reluctant to
embrace this kind of learning modality.

The video was asking me one thing: Whilst the entire world is facing a lethal
epidemic, and the education of our children is at risk if parents decide to allow
their children to go back to school, is ONLINE LEARNING can respond
effectively to the needs of our students?
It is about time to embrace this type of learning method since most of us can
drown ourselves in the cyber world more than 8 hours a day. We rely information
from internet, watch movies online, meet friends virtually and do only shopping
and purchases. Having said these convenience and instantaneity of the online
spree to people, should also education sector fully take advantage of this
opportunity?

Distance Education will help us overcome that fear that in case COVID 19
continuously affects mankind, and many of our students will have no option but to
stop. This massive shift in the educational system opens our mind and intellects
to consider online learning not only an alternative form, but a type of modality
that we can make use of in the future.

 Online learning requires more self-discipline, and (surprise!) it will benefit

your learners. Since there’s no one to monitor your learners, they are
required to be self-disciplined. Therefore, your learners will actually
have to take the time to study, pay attention to what they are studying,
and apply what they learned during an exam.

 Results have shown that learning outcomes for online learners are
comparable to traditional students at both the high
school and university level. In fact, many top universities now offer
online courses.

 Learners do not need to spend time or resources on commuting. With

online learning, there’s no need to spend money on transportation. Your
learners can study using any device with an Internet connection.

 With online learning, you can still grant a diploma or certificate. Yes,

that’s right. You can even use the same certificates that are given to
people who take face-to-face classes.

We are not arguing that traditional learning should be discontinued; however,

online learning is not only a great alternative, but it can also supplement face-
face learning. For instance, some teachers and trainers use a blended
approach where both methods are combined to maximize results.
If you are a teacher or a trainer, consider how the benefits of online can make
your life and your learner's lives much easier without sacrificing any quality.
