    Although  the  syntactic  marker  co-­‐occurs  with  the  gloss  BOOK,  the  green  curve  

    controlling  the  intensity  of  the  corresponding  pose  starts  before  the  onset  of  the  syntactic  

    marker  and  ends  a  significant  amount  of  time  after  it.    This  reflects  a  commonly-­‐used  

    technique  in  animation  whereby  the  action  will  ease-­‐in  and  ease-­‐out  of  a  given  pose  

    (Burtnyk  &  Wein,  1976).
