characteristics of ASD you’ve seen in your observations thus far.
How has what you’ve learned thus far in the course helped you
to better identify the different characteristics in individuals with
ASD?
Problems with Social Interactions with others
I might look away….

I might not be able to look into your eye’s….

I might not be able to shake your hand….

I might not be able to stay on topic…..

I might talk over you……

I most likely will not understand if you are sarcastic…..

But remember that I still have feelings, just like you.

Unusual Interest in Objects
I might like something you I might want to tell you
don’t ! Like Everything everything about ??
about My Little Pony! 1. Cars

In my observation of the Youtube
videos I saw.
Individuals with ASD, might have
needed additional support to
complete a worksheet but when
asked about their area of interest
such as video games or dinosaur’s.
They were quick on their feet and
could name video games that I had
no clue about.
 Sight- lights might be to bright for
me. Please respect my wishes to

Sensory Needs or use things like sunglasses to help

me.

Over or Under Touch - please ask?

Reaction? Taste- Most likely have selected

food I like

I might have unsual Smell- smells bother me. I might be

emtional reactions
honest if I think you smell.

Hearing- noises- loud noises that
