STRUCTURAL HEALTH MONITORING

1. STRUCTURAL INSPECTION
 Significant changes in the position of the structural and non-structural elements
relative to the original location:
o horizontal displacements;
o vertical displacements;

o rotations.
 Deformations of structural elements manifested by bending, settlements etc.

 Degradations of structural elements manifested by:


o cracks in masonry and concrete elements;
o removing of concrete cover;

o rust on steel elements or reinforcements;


o swelling, shrinkage or rot of timber elements;
o degradation of materials due to other physical or chemical processes (freeze-
thaw, corrosion etc.).
 Changes in the protection and comfort of the building:
o degradation of finishes (plaster, floor covering etc.);
o degradation of thermal insulation;
o degradation of hydrofuge insulation;
o dampness or moisture in structural and non-structural elements.

2. SERVICE INSPECTION
 Checking of slopes on sidewalks in order to collect and move away the rainwater.
 Checking of the pipes from water supply system and sewerage.
 Checking of roof gutters and downspouts.
 Checking of moisture near foundations.
