Faustus is a German scholar who has a lust of knowledge and power.

There was many things

in front of him but ultimately he chooses necromancy as it has a scope, power in it. He learned a
dark magic and make a deal with Lucifer. He granted his soul to Lucifer just for 24 years
and Mephistopheles was sent to serve Faustus by Lucifer. Although when Faustus summon
Mephistopheles by using black magic, he was warned by Mephistopheles about the
consequences, about the hell. But Faustus refuses as he does not want to be an ordinary man, he
wanted to have all the power, all the knowledge,
Faustus tells Mephistopheles to return to Lucifer with his offer of Faustus’s soul in exchange of
Mephistopheles’s service for 24 years, on which Lucifer agreed. Faustus doubts about his offer to Lucifer
and starts to wonder about repenting to save his soul, however in the end he agrees to the deal. Faustus
travels around the world with his great power and Mephistopheles on his side and performs tricks
to the audiences. Several times throughout the play, Faustus feels doubt and regret about his decision,
which is depicted through the appearances of the Good and Evil Angels. As the time passes by and the
24 years of his deal with the Lucifer draws near.an Old Man visits him and asks him to repent.
During this conversation, Faustus reflects on his life and despairingly accepts his doomed fate.
Right before his death, he tells his fellow scholars about his deal with the devil; they pray for his
soul. At midnight, demons take away his soul and on the following morning, his fellow scholars
find his torn limbs. The story ends with a warning from the Chorus about what happens to men
who seek more than what heavenly power permits.
