CHAPTER V

CONCLUSIONS AND SUGGESTIONS

In this chapter, the researcher gave the conclusion and the suggestion based on the

research finding and discussion.

A. Conclusion

After the researcher did the research and analyzed the student’s writing of recount

text in tenth grade students of SMAN 2 Tarakan. There were so many errors over

there and their writings. So, in this part, the researcher described the number of

errors. The total amounts of errors were 798 errors. The percentage of types of error

were omission 147 errors with 18%, 106 addition errors with 13%, 538 misformation

errors with 67% and 7 misordering errors with 1%. These types of error were founded

by the researcher in 18 sub categories error.

Moreover, to conclude the sources of error based on comparative analysis

taxonomy, The percentages of types of error were developmental with 68.1%,

Interlingual with 16.8%, ambiguous errors with 9.9% and other errors with 4.9%.

These types of error were founded by the researcher in 18 sub categories error.

B. Sugestions

Based on the conclusion above, the researcher gave several suggestions. It might

be useful for the students, teachers, and future researchers.

1. For the students:

The most types of errors were verb tense. The researcher suggests the students to

learn more about verb tense and more practice about writing. The students also

should read more about recount text in order the students know how to write recount

text correctly.

2. For the teachers

The teacher should teach about verb tense well. Then, the teacher also should give

the detail explanation about how to make the sentences in form of past. So the

students can understand the sentence in the past form clearly. The teacher also should

give the explanation clearly about how to write the recount text correctly in order the

students know about generic structure as well as language features.

3. For the future researcher

This research is expected to the future researcher to do more analyzing in other

aspects of grammatical errors. This research also was expected to be consideration to

the students, teachers, and other researchers to make the solution from the problems.
