FOREWORD

This poem booklet is mainly about the daily life struggles which
include poverty and unrequited love although there is quite a
plethora of love poems. The poem book also brings about
motivational poetry in the poems like Hands and Break the
Chain .The main objective of the poem is to bring hope and to
entertain at the same time. I hope you'll enjoy reading the
poem booklet.

Stuck in oblivion,
My heart brimming with tears
My heart vibrates a sorrowful vibration
At the age of 10 I am called father
My mind still reiterates on the manslaughter of my
parents.

Life used to be a party to be thrown,

Now life is an everyday death memorial.
To add insult to injury,
I fend for me and my sibling,
Grovelling is now my "good morning" to neighbours
I'm a delinquent in the eyes of many.

Poverty loved me first,

But the feeling is not mutual.
I cry myself to sleep, wondering about the next day.
I'm a loner in this world, nobody wants me,
Relatives turned me away

Now I have to play the role of 'father",

Will my sorrow ever end?

Crying in the labour room,

Holding me tight in my small bedroom,
Disturbing you while you work in your study room,
Coming to cry to you when I came last in an athletics
competition,
Bringing me a bike at school to satisfy my young heart,
Trying to climb a eucalyptus for my remedy,
It feels like it’s been a million years ago but I'm lucky to
have -
The greatest man on my side.

My small birthmark has probably changed and it’s now

in a shape of your name because-
I was born to love you,
If I had a country I'd name it after your name,
The currency for the country would be love,
The constitution for the country would be headlined by
hard work,

I'm usually left puzzled because I feel lucky to have-

The greatest man by my side.

I wouldn't compare you with other men in this world,

Not because some are rich or muscular,
The reason being that you're too unique to be compared
to others,
You're a man of integrity.
When I turned 20 you gave me tough love,
Love I thought was hatred,
But now I've grown and I'm a better man.

You're the greatest treasure which one could ever ask

for, but I can't compare you with treasure because it
takes good men to be heroes,

I'd say you have a golden heart but you seem to have
more than that, I never want to lose you you're my first
role model, I feel lucky to have the greatest man.

ROSE GOLD

The bling of your eyes makes me want to stare at you

forever,
Your white shining teeth like a half moon makes me
see a bright future,
Your golden heart makes me love you even more,
I'd say it was love at first sight but I managed to hold
myself for the right time.

There is really no concession for our connection,

Is your love growing again?
Ever since we started dating I listen to love jams till the
clock strikes 2,
I want you to be my forever,
I want to put a Rose gold ring on your finger because-
You deserve the best my angel.

Is your love growing again?

If our love was a story book,
The first chapter would be about how you cried on our
first date,
And if we had kids they'd have your nose,

Babe am I rushing?
All I want is for you to wake up on my side every day,
And look at your Rose gold ring which is a reminder of
our strong love.

I found a crystal of sugar in a thousand crystals of salt,

My love if you were a flower -
I'd call you a Lotus flower,
I found you in a world filled with women without
knowledge of true love,
And I want us to swim in a pool filled with our
sacrifices to be together,
Babe will you accept this Rose gold ring and be mine?

SMALL EYES

Women brutalized by their husbands,

Indecent dressing approved by multitudes,
Ruthless killings,
Spouses suffering infidelity,
Thugs stealing for prosperity,
The world has forgotten the precious world successors-
The juveniles are watching all the sour taste of this
world small eyes are watching.

Families disheartened,
The poor continue to be rich while the poor dwell in
the bitter Paradise of poverty,
Disrespect of marriage,
Money seen as valuable treasure,
Undermining people’s lives,
Small eyes continue to watch.

Treating war like a game,

Having boiling tempers,
Disrespect of parents by their children,
Uncontrollable desires,
Juveniles continue to copy and dwell in the earth’s bad
fruits, small eyes continue to watch.

Love finds a way

I loved you from day one.

I knew that you were the one.
I loved you for who you are,
You also loved me for who I am,

Our love Paradise seemed to be eternally,

You had promised to stand by me in front of your
father,
But you deserted the conversation and left me missing
my mother.

Your father wasn’t pleased with my profession,

He knew about my profession after my confession,
He never wanted you to marry a "Nobody",
He wanted you to marry a “Somebody ",

He wasn't pleased because I was only refuse collector,

He used to say that I undermined your family name
with my stature.

When I asked for your hand in marriage he said that

I'm very poor,
Is love supposed to be about one's social standing?
You never stood by me when he said I'm poor and that
I'd die poor,
I thought that love and happiness is what builds a
relationship,

I thought that couple could survive in a single room as

long as there is love in the relationship,
Your father said I wasn't worthy for you,
He refused to shake my hand,
He said I'd pass my poverty to his rich hands.

I used to cry,
I thought we'd never comply,
Comply against your father,
I stood by you against my mother,
Your father told me that I was unworthy,
I used to think that love finds way,

Now you're a wife to a rich husband,

I continue to dwell in poverty,
But happiness dominates my family,
Because when love and happiness dominate,
Love always finds a way.

I cannot pretend -
To be in peace,
So girl please,

Don't watch me plead,
There is more from me.

You say you're with someone,

You say I'm not of your caliber,
But my love for you is genuine,
Please just love me for me,
I see you with other boys -
And my heart sinks with a lot of pain,
My heart wants to have you.

Still waters run deep,

But my love for you overflows all oceans,
You say that I'm not good looking,
You say I'm an ordinary boy,
Yet my heart is extraordinary,

Every time you send me away like a fly pushed away

from delicious food,
I try pursuing you but you slumber my efforts,
I might have unpleasant looks,
But my heart is pleasant and willing to have you,
Every time I see you my love troubles disappear,
Please love me for me.

You say I'm too desperate,

Yet my love for you is deeper than the Congo basin,
My love for you never ends,
I sometimes wish that I was from a well up family,
But I can't change where I come from,
I always see myself "inferior” because of the way you
chase me away.

Caught my self-smiling.
Saw you giggling.
We starred for a minute.

I could swear you don't bath using City council water.

Only Cologne is what fits your beautiful skin.
I saw us in a world of our own.
For a minute the world stopped.

The sun was sullen -

But our love was rising.
We started talking, all I could see were your bright
teeth.

There were so bright that I couldn't even see them.

I asked for your numbers
But you wittingly refused.
We strolled through the streets,
And I felt like an Angel was beside me.

And you looked at me with sparkling eyes,
I couldn't stop smiling,
I had never seen such beauty in my life,

True definition of drop dead gorgeous.

I asked for a hug as a farewell,
Yet you said I moved too fast.
I told you that I love you,
And you smiled.

If this is not love

Then I don't want to love again.
If this is infatuation
Then I want to infatuate for the rest of my life.
If this is rushing
Then I want to run for the rest of my life
Because I surely believe that -
This is love.

Our afternoon laughter brings joy to the world
Your juicy lips paint Paris with love
Your white eyes brightens snow in Canada

No hot arguments
My heart just keeps on smiling

Strolling in the streets
Strong whistles dominate our path
Whistling to your beauty

Sour demeanor is a thing of the past
Tired ribs is what keeps my body busy
My self-esteem has reached planet Pluto
I loved you before I knew you

The first lady of my life

I know what a heartbeat feels like

Green eyes of jealousy,

Hot anger,
Eyes of despise,
I try to survive the scene,
I try to put a fake smile.

Everyone at my work place continues to envy my

success,
Talks of “bad luck ",
Being in everyone’s tongue like the day's headlines,
Having no one to talk to,
Eyes of hatred dominate the atmosphere.

Losing friends at work,

Sabotage by co-workers,
All in the name of “jealousy ",
I try to turn a blind eye but the thoughts of being
envied slices my heart.

What has happened to human nature?

Admiration of one's success is now a thing of the past,
If envy could kill, many in the world would've died
with envy.

HOT TEARS

Last cloud of hope rains heavily,

Pain in my heart grows strongly,
In front of people I pretend to be happy,
The earth has turned its back on me,
The hero of my heart dismantled me,
Unable to follow my dreams.

Having to take care of my father's off springs,

While I miss the opportunity of furthering my
academics,
My future looks pitch dark,
Poverty will continue to be relatives with me,
I try to cry to heal myself but-
My hot tears continue to fall to the ground.

I wanted to have a future,

I wanted to have everything,
I wanted to explore the world,
My whole dream is now a fantasy,
Hot shouts is what I get,

Taking care of the house has become my dream killer,

And yet my hot tears continue to fall to the ground,
No one wants to help me,
My hot tears continue to water the ground -
With tears of hopelessness.

Failure dominates my life,

Forcefully stopping my life,
Having to dwell in a nest of poverty,
Crying when no one cares less,
My future is blurry without education,
The ground shall one day respond -
To my hot tears.

My looks, a sign of power

Cracked, chapped unattractive to the eye
A sacrifice of beauty for a bright future
Yes... I am your hands, stick with me,
You will no longer suffer
Wealth, success and success...
I present to you on a silver platter.

Having cracked hands is a sign of success.

Cracked hands convey a good future.
Cracked hands symbolize a hardworking man.
The future depends on the hands.
Without the effective use of hands -
For many the future is blurry.

Cracked hands might be displeasing to look at.

On the contrary it symbolizes wealth.
Cracked hands is a tittle for hardworking man and
women out there.

The pair of hands is the most powerful tool to success.

They say one needs knowledge for success.
On the contrary for success one needs powerful hands.
Hands which never despair.

Hands symbolize hardness of life.

Hands go through hard conditions.
They encounter heat but still continue to be strong
Some hands are struck with frost bites but they
continue to thrive.
Some hands encounter blisters but they soar through.
In order to be successful one needs to face problems
head on like hands.

Hands provide food.

Hands provide shelter.
Hands lead to the birth of a new born.
Hands provide essential services
Hands is the powerful treasure which anyone can have.
It all starts with the appreciation of hands and
willingness to encounter everything in life.

I thought we would reminisce the good times,

Telling our grandchildren our love fairy tale,
But you neglected me when it mattered the most,
I had tattooed your name on my heart-
Since I thought it'd be yours till eternity,
You threw it down like a hot potato,
You didn't even care about where it would land.

I cried for days and months,

I tried to rekindle the spark but I failed,
Seeing you with your new boyfriend is like putting my
heart in boiling water,
The pain rejuvenates,
The power of the pain is like that of an earthquake
which is about to erupt.

You said if love was a drop of water you'd give me the

whole ocean-
But you deprived me of the single drop,
I always imagine how it would've been like -
Walking with you in the streets while holding hands,

Watching the sunsets together,

I still can't believe that we're no longer together,
You still dominate my mind during the night-
But still you set my heart on fire.

I always ask myself if I ever did anything wrong,

I miss the late night talks-
The afternoon laughter's
Sharing with you all the mundane moments of my day,
But to you that was all in vain,
You decided to set my heart on fire,
You had promised to never crash my delicate heart,
But you left it in ashes instead,
All I do is lick the wounds in my "ashy" heart,
I try to be strong but my heart continues to cry,
I'll never love again.

PAINFULL BREAKUP

I try to mask up the pain,

I try to hold back the tears,
I'm losing my sanity,
Days feel like weeks
Sleeping is my therapy session.

"I can't do this anymore ", is all it took for you to roast
my steaky heart.
I groveled but you didn't care
I cried in front of you-
Yet you ridiculed my actions,
They say time heals-
Yet time pains my “poor soul"

My love for you was naked,

The whole world could see that I love you,
To add salt to the bleeding wound,
You say you never loved me,
To add insult to injury,

I thought we'd last forever,

Yet forever was a dream,
Goodbye my lover,
Goodbye my friend,
You've been the one.

We hold hands and the sky falls away

You look at me in the eyes -
And I look sideways
You smile eloquently
And I lose my breathe

I see your chocolate flavoured dimples

And I feel like a shy Rabbit
You lie on my shoulder
And I feel like a King
You hold me tight and my troubles disappear for a
while.

I told you that you're my world

Yet you say I'm your sun shining bright for the earth.
Every time I look at you I see fire burning
You tell me that you love me
And the earthquake in me erupts

You bring me in a climax with joy and laughter,

Only "honey like words" survive -
Your beautifully sculpted teeth,
In the end its" Her and I".

VEGETATION ASSASSINS

Trees cry silently,

The vegetation is never treated gently,
Axes plundering over the precious trees,
Areas which were once green with wonderful scenery-
Are now brown only left with the soil,
Trees continue to cry silently with no one to help.

Sometimes they are burnt alive,

They usually fear on the sound of man who kill for
their own gain-
After thousand years of surviving the life of trees is
ended prematurely,
World's precious vegetation is lost in cruel hands,
Hands of ruthless vegetation assassinators,
The land is left bare like a hand.

The vegetative green colour,

Sour demeanour,
The assassin has brought pain for many,
Truth less killing without any care,

Will it be ever a thing of the past?

Many still dream of a green scenery,
Without vegetation being killed

Moment of pain for a lifetime of glory

The room suddenly became quiet,

Even a church mouse is not so quiet,
The white walls made it feel like a horror movie,
She begged me to hold her hand tight,
The doctors suddenly popped in,
They were wearing protective clothes like mine,
I saw my wife sweat,
She looked at me with eyes full of fear,
My armpits where also heavily sweating.

We had waited for an offspring for a while,

My wife started screaming heavily-
The doctors showed me the door,
I wanted to be with my wife during the moment of
pain,
She screamed and doctors started screaming the word
"push",
I gazed through the window and saw my wife struggle,
I wanted her to know that-
It was a moment of pain for lifetime glory.

My wife started calling my name,

But my mind was already lost,
The doctors asked me back to the labour room,
My wife asked me to hold her hand,
The doctors kept emphasizing that the baby would die
if we failed,
I asked my wife to be strong,
I reminded her of how glorious we would be
afterwards,
Tears started flowing in my cheeks,
My legs started trembling.

The doctors asked her to push for the final time,

Heavy crying dominated the room,
I knew that someone of my blood had visited planet
earth,
I saw the joy in my wife’s eyes,
She had felt pain for a lifetime of glory,
I couldn't hold myself,
I held my wife's hand so tight,

When I touched the baby he moved his nose -

I guess it was an expression of happiness.

I thanked my wife for what she had gone through,

I saw the tears of joy among the doctors,
My wife's father popped in the room -
We rejoiced heavily,
Above all my wife had been the heroes of the day,
She had numbed all the pain and gave me an offspring,
That made me love her even more.

Even a church mouse is not so quiet,

They say it’s a generational curse,

But i say the curse ends with me.
They say nothing great will come from me,
But I say "watch the space",
They say it’s impossible for me to reach my destiny,
But I tell them that I'll go beyond my destiny.

Being undermined is the daily stigma,

Trying to rise above the sea is my daily fight,
They say I'll never be the best,
But I tell them that I don't want to be the best but the
great,
Oh will people ever acknowledge my efforts?
Will they ever think about the bad they wished me?
Before success showered my doorstep.

They say they never see me clubbing,

And I tell them that I've never seen them at the bank,
They say I should relax,

And I tell them that without pain I won't gain

anything,
They say that I should stay on my comfort zone,
But I tell them that the comfort zone has never yielded
any great rewards.

The chain of poverty can be Brocken,

It only takes effort to break the chain,
Determination should be the daily breakfast,
Rising beyond limits should be the ultimate goal,
I continue striving to be a chain breaker.

I found a single crystal of sugar in a thousand crystals

of salt,
I tasted sweetness in a sour lemon,
I tasted cake when I was only eating bread,
I laid my eyes on you and I felt brand new,
I looked at your glowing eyes and all I could see was
our future.
I looked at your bright teeth and saw our bright future.

They said we would never make it,

They said we were going too fast,
Despite the despairs and problems here we are,
Our love is amazing,
It’s like I don't deserve it,
You taught me that love -
Tries,
Love forgives,
We have cried,
We still continue to be inseparables.

I told you that I needed your attention,

But you gave me all of you,
I asked you to be there for me through the bad,
But you've been there throughout my life,
I told you that I love you,
You told me that you have a feeling more than love.

When we hold hands it’s like i own the world,

We smile and you fall in,
There is no concession for our connection,
You drive my mind like Porsche without brakes,
You make my heart create a music tune when it beats,
We've been together for a long time,
My uncles will soon create relations with your family.

I've always dreamt for having you for eternity,

I can't wait to look at you in the eyes and say I do,
I can't wait to see you in a white dress,
We've been carrying world problems,
Give me the honor to have you by my side,

I can't wait to say -

Honey moon has elapsed,

Reality has kicked in,
We'll be heading for the honey sun,
It won't be rosy my love,
Honey moon sweet nothings will be in vain.

Honey moon was temporary,

Honey sun will be forever,
We'll face hardships and quarrels will dominate,
Financial disputes will soon take over,
Please remain by my side forever.

I'll love you with your flaws,

We'll have to be united,
Let's continue to be bread and butter,
Let's love each other despite the hardships,
Stand by me even if I'm to be retrenched.

We said till death do us part,

Let's not let people do us part,

Let's toast to a joyful honey sun.

Divine moments come to an end.

Bad moments come to an end.
Good dreams have an ending.
Nightmares have an ending.
Nothing in the planet is permanent.

Drowning in debt,
Torture by the husband,
Death threats,
Being a laughing stock in the community,
It shall all come to an end for -
Every problem has an Expiry date.

Swimming in wrong life choices,

Surrounded by infidelity,
Pain of losing a husband,
Pain of losing a wife,
It shall all come to an end for -
Every problem has an expiry date.

Unemployed,
Divorced,
Walking in poverty lane,
Amputed,
It shall all come to an end for,
Every problem has an expiry date.

Tears may overflow,

Suicidal thoughts,
Regret,
It shall all come to an end,
It’s dark before sunrise,
Hang in there,
Your problems will expire.

OASIS OF HOPE

My heart brimming with tears,

Domination of lost hope,
Starring at the oasis with thirsty eyes,
Loss if hope echoing my mind,
The oasis seems to be miles away.

My dry mouth can no longer hold on,

The saliva in my mouth now tastes like raw lemon,
Trying to be strong is all I do,
My eyes have suddenly become fuzzy,
It’s like I'm in a horrible dream,
My quest for the precious liquid continues.

My legs start to ponder,

The oasis continues to be closer,
I start to lose consciousness,
My hope is not faded I start crawling,
The deadly heat starts burning my soft knees,
All I can do is cry.

Crawling seems to be hard,

I resort to move using my stomach,
As I continue moving the hot sun burns my clothes.
Vision starts to be blurry,
Water is a hand away,
I try to put a hand inside the oasis.

The water tastes like coarse salt,

I gallop it but l know hours are only left for me,
Before I can retire to the soil,
My oasis of hope turns to a nightmare,
I finally enclose my eyes and rest peacefully.

FOREVER

Whenever I see a sunflower-

I think of you,
Every time I see the sunrise-
I think of your ever rising love,
Whenever we look at each other’s eyes-
I see our glowing future.

Forever is not a longtime

When you're with the right person,
I believed that you are the one,
When we first made an eye contact,
I believed that you are the one -
When you unraveled your selfless personality.

We sometimes argue,
But you always come back to my loving arms,
Friends and family tried separating us -
But we always found the way my love,
If loving you is wrong,
Then I don't want to be ever right again.

I don't want -
To take you to the land of honey and milk,
I want to take you to the land of un-ending love and
laughter,
I don’t want to give you the world,
I want to give you all of me.

I don't want you for a certain period,

I want us to be together forever,
We've survived the sloppy road of love,
We've survived the hot arguments,
There is nothing I want more than your-
Precious heart,
I want our love to last forever.

I’II NEVER LOVE AGAIN

I loved unconditionally,
I treated them comfortably,
I loved them with all my heart,
Some treated my heart like smelly socks,
I always wonder why I don't experience -
True love

The other one dumped because I'm poor,

The other one left me because I'm not handsome,
I always went the extra mile,
All the other girls treated me like an ATM,
They only remembered me when they were lonely,
Some even told me that I'm a useless boyfriend,
With all these heart breaks -
I'll never love again.

Some made me an option,

Some saw a fool in me,
I once asked for a hand for marriage from Thelma,
She said she doesn't want to reside in poverty,

I bought a balloon for Ellen -

She said a girlfriend has to be fed,
I bought chocolate for Christine -
And she said she wants a bunch of flowers.

I always ask my self -

Why me?

I don’t have a personal somebody because of my
colour,
The only love I know of is motherly love,
Romantic attraction is a neighborhood film,
In the buses no one wants me near them,
No one wants to touch me.

Many say I'm a curse,

They say I have a disability,
Whilst my skin colour doesn't mean inability,
They don't know that albinism is royalty,
I'm easily recognizable,
