EXERCISE 4D

A combination of arthritis and her recent radiotherapy has rendered the patient
immobile. Consequently, the patient has poor skin and may soon get pressure sores. Use two
nurses to change the patient’s position every two hours. Use draw sheets and straighten them as
well as removing crubs if there are any in her bed.

Her skin should be kept clean and dry and the patient should have a bedbath every day.
Remember to clean her hair and nails. She should be encourage to eat a nourshing diet
containing adequate protein and to drink at least 2 litres of fluid every day.
