The Black Cat

Edgar wrote a story which is entitled “The Black Cat”, the story begins with a
prisoner describing how he ended up in jail. The narrator tries to conceal the truth by
walling up the body of his wife, but the black cat's voice helps bring him to justice and
truth. Back then everything was normal with him but by the time he reached adult, he
changed to someone who isn't him anymore. He became aggressive and alcoholic. All
the sudden things went south as he meets a cat, that turn his world upside down.

The story has five characters and one of it is the narrator, he's the main character
who is alcoholic and being abusive to his pets and to his wife as well who he murderer.
Next the narrator’s wife, she's introduced by the narrator as a sweet loving and kind
wife. She was killed as she protected the cat. She's saved its life despite she was being
killed by his own husband. Then Pluto, he was one of their pets it’s a black fuzzy big
cat. He later died in the story as he was tortured to death. Then the second cat, this cat
looks just like Pluto except he has a white fur on his chest. This brings hope to the wife
for he is the reason to find the body by the policemen. Lastly the policemen, the
policemen symbolize justice. They came back to the house multiple times and as soon
as they get back, they were able to find the body of his wife. Since the story is describe
or narrate by the narrator this is a first point of view or he describes everything that he
has done in the story. The story occurs usually in their house or a lot of crime
happened.

“The Black Cat” that was written by Edgar gives us important moral lesson in life,
which is karma itself, whatever you do to others it will always get back to you. Similar to
golden rule which is treat others just the way you want to be treated. Learn from the
short story so that you will become a better person in life.
