Four years ago I came to Arequipa because I wanted to study at the university. I
did not know what artistic events were in this city but one day one of my friends
told me about an event that many people went to. This event is the Corso De
Arequipa. For two years I have been going to Corso De Arequipa. For me it is
one of the artistic events with the most audience that I have seen in Arequipa.
The Corso that took place last year made me smile because I found one of my
best friends from school who was dancing in a group of dancers from Puno.
Since that date I have started talking to her because I haven't seen her for a
long time. In this event there were many musicians who played a catchy music
that made everyone dance but there was also sad music for lovers. The
thousands of families that come have always brought their chairs to see the
dancers, clowns, musicians and some singers. There was also a lot of food
from many places in Peru but I believe that the Arequipeña food has always
been the best and until now there is no one who has won its yet. Some
orchestras played very interesting and unusual music because that wasn't the
type of music they played.
At the end of the event I have always felt sad because there was a lot of rubbish
on the streets and I think they haven’t understood that this isn’t done yet. Some
people have already understood that but we aren’t many.
