The title of this topic is how e commerce have been a significant in marketing in the
today’s world and how they have changed the whole market, before internet the
marketing and the businesses were done by advertised b going to customers to
customer, hence the whole marketing process for businesses have been changed for
good. So i conducted the research on the commerce and how it has affected the
businesses of today’s world, how they have improved their marketing process by the e-
commerce and how can it still maintain in future.
The business i chose is “olx”.
Why this research is needed? This research is very important, because the rapid
increase in e commerce had let many companies convert their marketing process from
normal marketing to e commerce marketing. E commerce has made in impact on the
market after being introduced in 2000’s and it certainly changed the whole marketing
process. The ecommerce marketing is a key to the change in the new era, but it is also
important for companies who recently startup their business. With this ecommerce
many companies have suddenly gain enough customer in a very short time. The
purpose I choose this subject of e commerce and how it have affected the businesses is
to prove following.
1. How can it bring and attract many customers
2. How can it change market of the company
3. How to make the customer enough comfortable to get their product of need.
4. How can a company provide easier access to product by internet or ecommerce?

Abstract:
The topic given to us for research is e-commerce and how it drives business success.
E-commerce is electronic commerce which means doing the buying and selling of
goods and services on the internet. In this fast growing world where technology has
captured the market immensely, e-commerce has an overall impact on the organization
positively leading towards the success of the brand. It has affected many sectors in the
business like finance, marketing, overall administration and how many availed this
opportunity like OLX and reached to point of success in the market. The results found
out in this research were positive leading the companies towards success. Data
collection was done through questionnaires and the data as analyzed and was made
clear to the general public. E-commerce opens a channel of worldwide business, which
will observer steady business in days to come. With the effect of globalization and
unwinding in export and import between countries, economies over the world will
observer better learning and information technology development?

Background of the study:

Introduction:
E-commerce is defined as the buying and selling of good over the internet which is
typically known as online buying and selling. All this is done because of the new
emerging technology and the need of the individuals and looking to ease of the
individuals. Due to all these changes in the technology now organization deals with their
consumers in a totally different manner due to which there is a huge shift in digital
technology. Many online activities like fund transfer, e-banking, etc were taking place
and people were aware of World Wide Web but as major shift came in the technological
sector of innovating smart phones and tablets the industry of e-commerce emerged
successfully and everyone availed this opportunity. It created ease between buyers and
sellers who can easily communicate and do the transaction in the virtual world.
E-commerce initially emerged in the flourished countries due to the fact that internet
coverage was there every time and made things easily available for all of the individuals
but now that the technology has been spread to the whole world where every single
individual is aware of everything has no access to e-commerce but developing countries
are taking a lot of benefit from e-commerce, (Panagariya, A. E-Commerce, WTO, and
Developing Countries-2003). As a result of this retailing business is now using the
internet to grab more of their customers and fulfilling the needs and demands of the
customers. In today world it is necessary for the brands to be more active and enhance
the shopping experience of the customers as expectations become higher. As the
technology is preceding day by day from Smartphone to smart fridge here technology
promises to make lives really a smart world. As the technology is emerging day by day
the companies can’t ignore this and sit at one side lagging behind they have to walk
with growing technology otherwise will lag behind. In the world where every time
research is being for the new technology, then the organizations who prefer consumer
needs are more likely to win the race (Stephens, 2016). 

Implication on the organization:


OLX is one of the leading brands in Pakistan making success through providing online
buying and selling of many products and services. Ecommerce effect have successfully
named olx as a much used e commerce buying and selling site in pakistan.Online
services which provide not only the brands but the local people to sell out there new or
used stuff and giving trustworthy environment. They provide great money value, fast
cash on delivery services and easy access to contact directly with the seller is there
main competitive advantage. OLX is the worldwide online marketplace which was
founded in 2006 for the ease of the customers. In Pakistan, it is reported that mainly 7
million people visit OLX in a month. In 2009 it partnered with social media for more
exposure and for the ease of customers (olx.pk, 2018)
Research objective

 Finding out the relationship between internet technology and consumer
behaviors towards buying online.

Internet has major influence on the globe because it can serve billions of users all over the
world. Thousands of local and global networks including private, public, academic, business,
and government networks, all contribute to the creation of the Internet (Yogurt et al. 2014).
Internet has opened the door for e-commerce. This section provides a brief overview of e-
commerce, including what it is and how it differs from existing related ideas.

Technology can play a significant role in developing and increasing the perfection of services in
business sectors and he also discussed that now a day’s after the revolution of agricultural and
industrial revolution, internet is considered to be the third wave of revolution. Yaser Ahangari
Nanehkaran et.al. Explained, ecommerce has actually made a business situation in our
modern world through technology like the internet or other computer network. The
development of ecommerce is basically depending of the accessibility of the internet of the
people. As we all know, internet and e-commerce are entirely committed towards every
developed country. But we think it can be accomplished and can make a remarkable benefit to
developing countries also if an ideal business purpose can be made. Ohidujja man et.al

There is an assortment of meanings of "electronic commerce" (internet business) in the


writing. It has been characterized as a mix of advances Electronic Commerce World
Foundation (1996), as a business approach Kalakota et al. (1996) and as a business. E-
commerce is overwhelmingly affecting both national and global economy. Recent research
studies indicate that e-commerce has a positive influence on the development of countries’
overall economies, and this contribution to economies will continue to grow (Shahriari et al.,
2015).

Electronic commerce (web-based business) is the way toward exchanging merchandise, data
or administrations by means of PC systems including the web (Turban et al., 2006). The term
'e-commerce' is a lot more extensive idea that incorporates any business activity led through
data systems, for example, information sharing and client benefits and incorporates different
applications, frameworks, and innovation to help trade and improve business execution
(McKay and Marshall, 2004). Despite the fact that the terms e-commerce and e-business are
some of the time utilized reciprocally in the writing (Turban et al., 2006), this investigation
utilizes the limited meaning of web-based business and is worried about the online exchanges
and exercises at the firm dimension. The term e-business is utilized to mirror the general
movement of all organizations in the long run to progress toward becoming e-organizations
with consistent incorporation between the appropriation and utilization of web based advances
and other data innovations in the association (McKay and Marshall, 2004).
For example, Amazon.com uses this tactic to allure consumers away from traditional
bookstores. These low price online retail store are causing a great consumer surplus.
Goldsmith et.al [11] study reveals that some consumers use online shopping just to avoid
from facet-face interaction with salesman because they feel uneasy & uncomfortable while
bargaining with the salesman and do not want to be manipulated and fooled around in the
marketplace.

In this paper, the term e-commerce is used to show the importance of the internet business
and how it drives the success of the brand because in today world technology has grabbed a
lot of things. As per Shoeb Ahmad (2014) Technological headways have extraordinary
opportunities just as difficulties for the chiefs from every single proficient field. The most
organization doesn’t connect high priority to innovation that moderates hierarchical danger of
lagging back captivity just as well as productivity. Change in perished instituted had turned into
made merchandise in each production circle. The present reveals insight into the ramifications
of innovation. It additionally discloses to us different issues that make obstructions to
mechanical changes in a business. 
As per Ali et al (2016) promoting your items online gives your competitive advantage and
better approach for promoting the products or services you are offering. Now a day’s firm’s
main backbone is the technology and e-commerce for remaining strong in the industry. 
In this exploration of the research shows the effect of that electronic buying and selling gives a
business a boost in a positive way because in today era everyone wants to ease in buying and
selling and online transaction so e-commerce has provided a platform for the buyers and
sellers to showcase their work and buyers would have trustworthy environment. The overall
research shows a positive relationship between e-commerce and the success of the business.

Research methodology
E-commerce (electronic trade) arrangements bring the open models and general access of the
Internet profoundly business procedures of purchasing and selling merchandise and
ventures. This is an extraordinary guarantee for a ton of organizations to kick off into E-
business. E-commerce is adopted by multiple of organization for bringing speed, efficiency
in their workplace in order to bring success. Methodology is the efficient, hypothetical
examination of the techniques connected to a field of study. It includes the hypothetical
investigation of the group of methods and standards related to a part of information. In the
qualitative research, there are numerous strategies which can be utilized so as to
investigate the premises from which this examination has begun (Explorable.com, 2017).
To the degree that it identifies with use, given the title of the proposed research, in
particular, the impudence of the online condition on the conduct of the organizational
consumer, we considered as the most reasonable one utilizing a surveys in light of the
fact that we wish to approach organizations internal data, data which the people
referred to would not have made them known inside. The information was gathered
through a structured questionnaire. 30 questionnaires we distributed among the clients
and got back 25 questionnaires which were completely filled. This was given in our city
Peshawar. Besides we could also use secondary data method which would be gathered
through books, diaries, libraries and so forth but this would not have such value as
compared to the primary data gathered.
Ethical issues in research methodology:
An issue or circumstance that requires an individual or association to pick between
options that must be assessed as right (ethical) or wrong (unethical).  There are a lot of
ethical issues that may occur in the research some are misleading practices which are
that a company can easily access the customer's data and which can lead to misleading
practices and can make company dishonest in the eyes of the customers. Privacy
issues concerns that the data gathered is misused and that can make break person
right to privacy. Another critical moral thought engaged with statistical surveying
includes breaks of secrecy. Organizations routinely share data about clients with
accomplices and partners, requiring the client to quit the sharing on the off chance that
he wouldn't like to be included. A few organizations sell data they have accumulated on
clients to outside organizations. Morally, any unapproved revelation of client data is
dangerous.
Evaluating Success
Businesses can do research for evaluating their success. Consumer goods companies
do research to check whether their consumers are satisfied with them or not, so same in
the case a business owner would like to know whether their target customers are happy
with them or not (Suttle, 2018) 

Sample Design: A sample design is a definite plan for obtaining a sample from a given
population. It refers to the techniques or the procedures that the researchers would
adopt in selecting samples and ideas to do ecommerce .Sample design in ecommerce
may as well lay down the number of items that are sold with internet as a platform to
attract the population. Sample design is determine before data are collected. Here we
select the population as sample in our sample design. The selected respondents should
be as representatives of the total population (Stattrek.com, 2017).

Population: The population is the number of employees  

Data Collection: most of the data collection is done through articles and research
papers based on the topic and also the company, also I have used Google as a help for
collecting all data, and I have bought some books related to the e commerce where I
collected all the literature review. More than Google books have been a helping hand in
completing the data of this research.
Primary Data: Primary data is the type of data which is collected by the researcher
himself. Primary Data in research project is done by Surveys, observations,
experiments, questionnaire, personal interview, etc. In this research most of the primary
data is given by questionnaire, a personal interview with the consumers. We selected
the following primary data in our research in my research project which is as below.

questionnaire,  the questionnaire have been made by myself and I have all the question
and interviewed my friends and family to ensure that is e commerce beneficial for
companies in today's market and how can they change the future of the selling market.

Data analysis 
Data analysis is the way toward examining and demonstrating information so as to find
helpful data. Information investigation has a huge numbers of various procedures, just
as applications all through the different orders, from business to science to the social
sciences. Analysis refers to separating the collected data in a particular order and the
main breakdown of analysis is known as qualitative analysis which focuses on pattern
and quantitative is all about the numerical values. In this, we made questionnaires and
collected data which was when future analysis by using graphs and tables to make it
understandable easily.

Data Analysis and interpretation: the graph shows that almost 40 percent were users of e-
commerce for less than 1 year, 45% were in between more than 1 year and less than 5 years and
15% were more than 5 years and some people had no idea regarding the concept

was more than 30% and the business use was more than 60%

in the market as the individual needs are more of priority and also the need of the

More than 45% respondent chose the second option as the availability of internet and
exposure of e-commerce is not very new neither old so they go for the second option.
More than 60 percent of the business use e-commerce for their business to expand
internationally and having success in all the aspects, and individuals also going for the
e-commerce for their ease. The business to consumer has the largest share in the
market and brands prefer that their consumers get best in every regard. E-commerce
created a lot of ease in buying and selling of big and small businesses. Pakistani
governments still have to look a lot in the industry of e-commerce as the developing
countries are far better in these concerns. E-commerce gives more exposure to
consumers and gives more and more success. Traditional buying and selling are left
behind and consumers are shifting towards the e-commerce websites for their comfort.
And a lot of work in many zones of this industry so to become more and more prominent
in this department.
Conclusion:
In this research, most of the facts are related to the internet and developing e-
commerce and their success in the business sector. It shows the current status of the
internet and how the industry in Pakistan is growing and where there are some
deficiencies in this area. It shows the development of e-commerce in the Pakistani
industry and ho businesses availed this opportunity. This includes the e-commerce
website, buying and selling behavior, privacy concerns and ethical issues which face in
the research. The e-commerce has an important impact nowadays in the developing
countries because the business gets the exposure not only nationally but the
international exposure. This includes the e-commerce website, buying and selling
behavior, privacy concerns and ethical issues which face in the research. The e-

boost the economy of one country and showed in which are the industry is lagging

- What is the Target Population?
The target population of this research project is mainly every customer of OLX who
have an account and also those who don’t have an account, since both are using their
services.
- What Sampling Frame is used:
I have chosen a sample frame of 20 since in OLX, there are very less customers who
have an account. Mainly I chose a less sample frame because I was not being allowed
to get a bigger sample from the branch manager. When I asked for a lesser sample
frame, they accepted my offer and I was allowed to do my research. I also put myself in
the sample and asked the very same questions I asked from everyone else.
- What type of Sampling Technique is used?
The method used was “Random Sampling”. This was the best way to get to know the
view of everyone about “OLX”. This type of sample method was very helpful in a way
that as people filled out the questionnaire, everyone had an equal chance to get chosen
and fill it out, so with help of random sampling the questionnaire got filled up by people
with different views about the bank. It required less knowledge to complete the
research, it was much easier to form the groups and on top of all, the findings can be
applied to the whole population also. A good Interview helps the researcher know what
the customers of the company think about.
• Rationale:
I have used Random Sampling method since it is the easiest and most efficient way of
getting a sample frame anywhere. I used a sample frame of 20 people.
With the help of this sampling method, I was able to get opinions of different customers
who used OLX’s services.
Recommendations:
 More of the business should be involved in the e-commerce side.
 The government should invest more in the e-commerce industry.
 Availability of internet and healthy knowledge regarding internet should be given.
