WORKING INSTRUCTIONS
Back and front: work in a single piece. With needles no. 4 and the Merino yarn cast on 123 sts. and work in leaf
st.. When work measures 21 cm., cont. in stockinette stitch decreasing 17 sts. in row 1 spaced evenly. When work
measures 2 cm. from beg. of the work in stockinette stitch, to shape the armholes work as follows: work only on
the first 23 sts. (left back) standing off all the rem. st. and decrease centrewise 1 st. every 2 rows 3 times. When
work measures 8 cm. from beg. of the armhole, to shape the shoulder bind off centrewise 5 sts. every 2 rows
twice; bind off the rem. sts. to shape the back neckline. Pick up work over the last 23 sts. and work the right back
to match the left back. Pick up standing stitches (front), binding off the 8 side sts., then dec. on each side 1 st.
every 2 rows 3 times. When work measures 6 cm. from beg. of armholes, to shape the neckline bind off the 14
centre sts. working them separately; decrease centrewise 1 st. every 2 rows twice. When work measures 8 cm.
from beg. of armholes, shape the shoulders to match the back. Sleeves: with needles no. 4 and the Merino yarn
cast on 30 sts. and work 4 rows in garter st. Cont. in stockinette stitch. On each side incr. 1 st. every 6 rows 5
times. When work measures 14 cm. from the edge, then shape the armholes bind off on each end 2 sts. and dec.
on each side 1 st. every 2 rows 6 times. Bind off the rem. sts.

FINISHING
Embroider in running stitch the front yoke following the chart and legend. Sew up the shoulders. With needles no.
4 and the Merino yarn pick up 50 sts. around the neckline and work 3 rows in garter st.; bind off the sts. Join and fit
the sleeves. Sew up the sides. Sew the back skirt up to the waistband. With crochet hook no. 2.50 and the Merino
yarn trim the left side of the back opening working 1 row in dc. and 1 row in reverse st.; in the last row, work 2
buttonholes of 2 chs. of which the 1st at the beg. of the opening and the 2nd at 5 cm. from the previous. Trim in
the same way as the right side, without working in the buttonholes. Braid in the satin ribbon at the waistband
making a bow a the centre of the front.

Back: with needles no. 4 and the Merino yarn cast on 60 sts. and work 2 rows in garter st. Cont. in multicoloured
star st. alternating 2 rows with the dark pink, 2 rows with the baby pink, 2 rows with the salmon, 2 rows with the
white. When work measures 14 cm., to shape the armholes bind off on each end 2 sts. and dec. 1 st. every 2 rows
4 times. When work measures 11 cm. from beg. of armholes, bind off the rem. sts. Right front: with needles no. 4
and the Merino yarn cast on 30 sts. and work 2 rows in garter st., cont. in multicoloured star st. working 2 edge sts
and alternating the colours in same way as back. When work measures 14 cm., shape the armhole on the left of
work in the same way as back. When work measures 15 cm., to shape the neckline dec. rightwise 1 st. every 2
rows 14 times. Bind off the rem. sts. for the shoulder. Left front: work to match right front. Sleeves: with needles
no. 4 and the Merino yarn cast on 32 sts. and work 2 rows in garter st. Cont. in multicoloured star st. alternating
the colours in the same way as the back. On each side incr. 1 st. every 6 rows 5 times. When work measures 13
cm., to shape the armholes bind off on each end 3 sts. and dec. 1 st. every 2 rows 7 times. Bind off the rem. sts.

FINISHING
Sew the shoulders. Join and fit the sleeves. Sew up the sides. With crochet hook no. 2.50 and the Merino yarn trim
the front buttoning sides and the front and back neckline by working 1 row in reverse st.; when working the last
row, work 2 buttonholes of 2 chs. along the right front working the 1st at the beg. of the neckline and the 2nd at 8
cm. from the previous. Sew on the buttons on the left front, facing the buttonholes.

MATERIALS REQUIRED - BOOTIES

Work starting with the sole. With needles no. 4 cast on 8 sts. and work in knitted stitch increasing on each side 1
st. every 2 rows 4 times. When work measures 7 cm., dec. on each side 1 st. every 2 rows 4 times. Bind off the
rem. sts. Cont. with crochet hook no. 2.50 and work around the sole in dc. in a circle spacing the
stitches as follows: 8 sts. at each tip, 21 sts. on each side (= 58 sts.). Cont. decreasing on each side of the 8 sts. at
each end 1 st each row 6 times. On next row work only over 8 sts. of one tip and, for the upper, cont. backwards
and forwards picking up on each side 1 st. each row 5 times. Stand off work.

FINISHING
Trim the upper edge of the bootie in reverse st. To make the lace, with crochet hook no. 2.50 hook the yarn at 2
cm. from the end of the upper; work a 17 st. chain and work over in dc. work a buttonhole(= 2 chs., skip 2 chs.) at
the free end of the lace. Break off and bind the yarn. Sew on the button on the other side of the lace. Work the lace
of the second bootie in the same way.
MATERIALS REQUIRED - BLANKET
400 g Regina yarn, apricot 06. Needles no. 8. Crochet hook no. 5. Tapestry needle.
